ACS Data Tables on data.census.gov

Untitled Document

ACS Data is on the Move!

Starting this year with the release of ACS 2019 data, the majority of ACS data tables will be released exclusively on the Census Bureau's new data platform at data.census.gov.

Below you will find a brief description of the American Community Survey data tables (or "data products") that will be available at data.census.gov. The links will bring you to a pre-filtered search results page for the ACS program, a product type, and a dataset.

Most, but not all, of the ACS tables previously found on American Factfinder, are moving to data.census.gov. See notes below for updated dates and notes on location exceptions.

Data Profiles

Provide statistics on social, economic, housing, and demographic characteristics for a selected geography giving a comprehensive view of a particular geography.

Detailed Tables

Provide access to the most detailed ACS data and cross tabulations of ACS variables.

Ranking Tables

Provide state rankings of estimates across 86 key variables. Available for 1-year estimates only.

Note: Ranking Tables will not be available on data.census.gov. They are available on the FTP site. Use the link below to access a list of Ranking Tables linked to the individual files on the FTP site.

n/a for 5-year estimates

Geographic Comparison Tables

Compare geographic areas other than states (e.g., counties or congressional districts) for key variables.

Note: Geographic Comparison Tables will not be available on data.census.gov. They are available on the FTP site. Use the link below to access the GCTs directory on FTP.

Subject Tables

Similar to data profiles but include more detailed ACS data, classified by subject.

Comparison Profiles

Provide detailed demographic, social, economic and housing data about a selected geography over several years to help users identify trends and patterns over time.

Selected Population Profiles

Provide broad social, economic, and housing profiles for a large number of race, ethnic, ancestry, and country/region of birth groups. Available for 1-year and 3-year estimates.

n/a for 5-year estimates

Supplemental Tables

Simplified Detailed Tables that provide access to the most recent ACS data at a lower population threshold than the standard 1-year Detailed Tables. Available for selected geographies with 20,000 people or more.

n/a for 5-year estimates
