American Samoa joins United States settlement with Starkist
Submitted by admin on Wed, 12/27/2017 - 10:28On December 22, 2017, the United States lodged an amended complaint with the U.S. District Court in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, adding the Territory as a co-plaintiff. The amended complaint includes the Territory’s claim for violations of the American Samoa Environmental Quality Act and its implementing regulations, based on the same facts underlying the United States’ claim for relief. The amended complaint also alleges three new violations of the federal Clean Water Act by Starkist.

The American Samoa Environmental Protection Agency (AS-EPA) announces the successful completion of a hazardous waste removal action by the United States Environmental Protection Agency (US-EPA) in American Samoa this week.
2016 KASB for the 3rd Quarter (April – June)

Of the 20 groups that are conducting monthly cleanups, 13 were able to submit data from April to June 2016 showing the types of trash collected from their adopted areas. The committed groups are listed below.
