Grice Marine Laboratory

The Grice Marine Laboratory is the marine lab of the College of Charleston and houses academic programs in Marine Biology. The lab supports teaching and research in evolutionary biology, marine biogeography, cellular and molecular biology, benthic ecology, immunology, microbial ecology, phytoplankton ecology, environmental physiology, fish systematics, and invertebrate zoology and other marine sciences. The laboratory is located at Fort Johnson on James Island, South Carolina.

 

The Green Teaching Garden at Grice

The Green Teaching Garden (GTG) will provide many opportunities for sustainable practices education and outreach at the College of Charleston (CofC) and within the Charleston community. This project will be led by the Marine Biology Graduate Student Association (MBGSA) in partnership with the Grice Marine Lab (GML) over-seeing the planning, design, installation, planting, water collection, maintenance, harvesting, and educational outreach. The CofC Sustainability Program has selected this project for funding with the Ecollective Funds from the student green fees.
