International Services Regions

APHIS has five International Regions and an Action Programs Region, which handles the Sterile Fly Release Programs. The offices allow APHIS IS to collaborate with foreign partners to control pests and diseases before they can harm the U.S, facilitate agricultural trade, ensure effective management of internationally-based programs, and invest in international capacity-building with foreign counterparts. Action Programs prevents the spread of pests harmful to U.S. agriculture. The five International Regions and their headquarters, are North Asia Region, Tokyo, Japan; South Asia Region, Bangkok. Thailand; Europe/Africa/Middle East Region, Brussels, Belgium; Latin America and Caribbean Region, Bogota, Colombia; and North America Region, Mexico City, Mexico. Action Programs is headquartered in Riverdale, MD.
