Notice on Quality Assurance Standards Relief in Response to National Emergency
The FBI is providing special relief relating to the FBI Director’s Quality Assurance Standards for Forensic DNA Testing and DNA Databasing Laboratories in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This addendum provides guidance to Forensic DNA Testing and DNA Databasing Laboratories for maintaining quality when strict adherence to the standards is not feasible as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic and includes alternative compliance strategies and/or documentation needed to demonstrate a laboratory’s best efforts to comply with the standards.
