We are a 501(c)3 organization promoting the inclusion of animals into disaster response efforts as required by the 2006 Pets Evacuation and Transportation Standards (PETS) Act. We develop guidelines and training to help community emergency response programs successfully incorporate animal response into existing frameworks.

Our Mission is to Protect the Entire Family
we are committed to a single goal: planning for, preparing for, and responding to disasters involving animals. NASAAEP works to provide communication and networking to facilitate information sharing and effective planning at the local, state and federal levels. Our organization focuses on building local capacity since all disasters begin and end locally.
We are a private, 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to finding volunteers to help those in need overcome challenges, while developing meaningful relationships with them.
We believe that our vision for the disaster planning community can and will be realized. Our animal-oriented focus maps out the change we wish to see in emergency preparedness: at the National Alliance of State Animal and Agricultural Emergency Programs, we want to protect the entire family. Come work with us and help us integrate large and small animal topics into disaster planning in meaningful ways.
