Welcome! Our downtown Visitor Center is open from 10 am to 5 pm Tuesday-Saturday in September. On September 27th we will begin winter hours: noon to 5pm on Tuesday and Thursday-Saturday, and 10am to 5pm on Wednesdays. We are located at 402 Center Ave, across from the Baranov Museum.

Volunteer!We need your help! The USGS Alaska Science Center is studying Avian Influenza viruses, and we are collecting samples from Kodiak hunter-killed ducks. Participating is easy!

Kodiak bears and Sitka black-tailed deer both eat fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium), a wild herb that blooms with purple flowers in August.
