Our Amigos Sponsored Events

Amigos de la Sevilleta, our refuge's dedicated Friends Group is sponsoring a variety of Events at the refuge this June and July! The Events are Open to All (for the entire family to enjoy) and are free! A few of the presentations require advance reservations which you can make via email at: reservations@amigosdelasevilleta.org. These summer Events are offered on Saturdays, or during evening hours to accommodate many. We hope you join us at Sevilleta for all of these interesting and unique outdoor Events! Amigos de la Sevilleta - Refuge Friends Group

Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge is fortunate to have a wonderful Friends Group, Amigos de la Sevilleta who's members volunteer their time to assist refuge staff in achieving the mission of the wildlife refuge. The Organization is non-profit and welcomes new members. Members make Amigos possible and membership is open to all. Amigos de la Sevilleta raises money through member’s fees and special events. Grants and store sales also contribute. We help by volunteering in a variety of jobs at the refuge. We educate people about the refuge through our newsletter and at tours and activities at the refuge and in the surrounding communities. Amigos members may also help with refuge management programs, habitat restoration projects, and the Gunnison's prairie dog reintroduction program.   Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge trails are open sunrise to sunset. No entrance fees are required. Our refuge gate hours are from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. The Visitor Center is open from 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Beginning Saturday, September 10, our Visitor Center will also be open on Saturdays during 9:00 am - 4:30 pm. Restroom facilities are available at the Visitor Center during open hours.

• Refuge' Flowers Field Guide

  

  Enjoy the detailed 53 page pamphlet linked below which identifies various flowers seen outside Sevilleta National Wildlife Refuge's Visitor Center. Photographs and drawings of flowering plants are categorized by petal color. Cacti and tree flowers are also included. (The pamphlet guide may take a moment to load and open.)

• On-line eBird Trail Tracker

  

  Launched in 2002 by the Cornell Lab of Ornithology and National Audubon Society, eBird Trail Tracker is a real-time, online checklist program that has revolutionized the way that the birding community reports and accesses information about birds. A birder simply enters when, where, and how they went birding, then fills out a checklist of all the birds seen and heard during the outing. The observations of each participant join those of others in an international network of eBird users. The link below allows you to set-up an account in eBird to submit your observations.
