Alaska Groundfish Survey Data Map
This database contains catch per unit effort data for bottom-dwelling groundfish and crab stocks in Alaska collected during the Alaska Fisheries Science Center groundfish surveys in 1982 to 2016.
Alaska Groundfish Tagging Map
The National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) has been tagging and releasing groundfish in Alaska waters since 1972. In that time, approximately 452,000 tags have been released and over 36,000 have been recovered.
Alaska Groundfish Fishery Observer Data Map
This tool provides access to information collected by observers on where fish and invertebrates are caught in the Bering Sea/Aleutian Islands and Gulf of Alaska groundfish fisheries.
Eastern Bering Sea Crab Distribution Data Map
This database contains distribution information for crab species in the eastern Bering Sea of Alaska collected during Alaska Fisheries Science Center bottom trawl surveys since 1975.
Alaska Groundfish Age-Length Map Tool
The Alaska Fisheries Science Center collects a variety of biological information during its fisheries surveys. This tool provides information on the ages and locations of fish caught during various years (1980-2015) of our groundfish trawl and acoustic surveys along the Alaska shelf.
Alaska Ichthyoplankton Distribution Map
North Pacific ichthyoplankton data from surveys between 1972 and 2009.
North Pacific Groundfish Diet Data Map
The groundfish trophic interactions database consists of diet data collected from key groundfish throughout the Northeast Pacific.
Alaska Longline Survey Data Map
The Alaska Fisheries Science Center (AFSC) conducts annual longline surveys to estimate the relative abundance of major groundfish species on the continental slope of the eastern Bering Sea, Aleutian Islands, and the Gulf of Alaska. The survey is primarily designed to assess sablefish and indices of abundance have been computed since 1979. Catch data from other species are also available. From 1979 to 1994, the AFSC conducted cooperative annual longline surveys with Japan, and then independently from 1987 to present.
Alaska Bathymetry Map
Bathymetry data can be analyzed to provide important information (e.g., slope and roughness) for defining Essential Fish Habitat. This mapping tool contains bathymetry data compiled by the Alaska Fisheries Science Center's Groundfish Assessment Program from the Aleutian Islands, Cook Inlet, the Central Gulf of Alaska and Norton Sound in Alaska.
Steller Sea Lion Field Season Map
Every year, biologists from the Alaska Fisheries Science Center Marine Mammal Laboratory survey the endangered Steller sea lion during the summer months in Alaska. This map provides a compilation of information collected during the 2016 field season, which included surveys via air, vessel and remote field camps.
