Geography plays an important role in all Census Bureau activities, including supporting the American Community Survey (ACS). It is the framework by which the Census Bureau collects and publishes social, economic, housing, and demographic data. Geography contributes to, and is involved in, ACS sampling, data collection, weighting, and data tabulation activities.
Check out our handbook, Geography and the ACS: What Data Users Need to Know, to learn more about an overview of geographic areas for which ACS data are available, special considerations in working with spatial data, and links to tools and other resources that data users can use to map ACS data.
