Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program - Mission Critical Voice Test Equipment Up to $12M Up to 2 years

The Mission Critical Voice Test Equipment grant from NIST PSCR seeks to support R&D around the creation of a simulator system which will enable the necessary testing of Mission Critical Push-to-Talk (MCPTT) technology. The simulator will be expected to support standardized MCPTT test cases, and award recipients will be encouraged to write public safety test cases as part of their final deliverables. Additional research goals may include the testing of Mission Critical Data and Mission Critical Video.

Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program - Mission Critical Voice Quality of Experience Up to $3M* Up to 3 Years beginning FY2019

PSCR sought applications from eligible applicants for activities to measure the impact of impairments to mission critical voice (MCV) systems and quantify the quality of experience (QoE) for first responders. 2018-NIST-PSIAP-MCVQOE award recipients will help achieve this by creating test devices and infrastructure to simulate these impairments, develop a test capability/methodology for human testing, and apply these tests to a diverse pool of first responders representing multiple disciplines, regions, and demographics while performing critical tasks in realistic operating conditions. Learn more.

Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program – Point Cloud City Up to $1M* Up to 1 Year, ending September 30, 2019

Successful applicants of the 2018 Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program Point Cloud City Notice of Funding Opportunity have just been notified that they will receive funding to generate an extensive catalog of annotated 3D indoor point clouds that can be used by industry, academia, and government to advance research and development in the areas of indoor mapping, localization and navigation for public safety, as well as to demonstrate the potential value of ubiquitous indoor positioning and location-based information. Recipients will also participate in the NIST Global Cities Team Challenge initiative as the lead for an Action Cluster. Learn more

Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program - User Interface, FY2018 $6.4M 2 Years starting June 1, 2018  PSCR released the NIST Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program – User Interface (PSIAP-UI FY18) NOFO for research and development grants and cooperative agreements. The NIST Public Safety Innovation Accelerator Program (PSIAP) Funding Opportunity awarded $38.5 million to 33 research and development (R&D) projects aimed at advancing broadband communications technologies for first responders.
