    EQC special meeting for finalist interviews and engagement

    The commission will hold a multi-day special meeting Jan. 24-26, 2017, to conduct interviews and other public engagement with the finalists.

    Agenda: Jan. 24-26, 2017, special meeting for engagement: Portland.

    The meeting will be in the Skybridge A/B Conference Room at the World Trade Conference Center: 25 SW Salmon Street, downtown Portland.

Update on the Fiat Chrysler Notices of Violation

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the California Air Resources Board released Notices of Violation of federal and California law to Fiat Chrysler on January 12, 2017.  The notices allege that Fiat Chrysler installed improper engine management software in light-duty model year 2014-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokees and Dodge Ram 1500 trucks with 3.0 liter diesel engines.  The notices assert that approximately 104,000 vehicles in the U.S. fall into these classifications.

Fiat Chrysler has denied the allegations in media responses to the notices.

The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality is conferring with the Oregon Department of Justice concerning possible actions that the state may take related to these allegations. 

Like all vehicles that are less than 4 years old, these Fiat Chryslers have not yet been subject to DEQ emissions certification.
