I cannot believe you would drop the most intelligent show on your schedule (Peg + Cat) and put in its place something as vapid and ridiculous as Pinkaicious. You wonder how young children have any chance to learn anymore

Is it possible within the corporation's power to also sell merchandise based on its legacy and place in the culture of public media in our country? I know this becomes a niche of a niche, but I figure it might be worth considering as a revenue option, if only insignificant. Also, I just want a shirt with the CPB logos of yore on them. Thanks!

PBS is federally funded yet thinks that it can be extremely liberally bias. My taxes for their radical views? Take them off the air.

I voted for Biden, and I dislike and disapprove of Trump. That said, I would like Judy Woodruff to resist showing her animosity to Trump. It is getting boring, predictable, and annoying to hear her bash Trump every evening and in almost every news story. It is almost to the point that I think she has a personal (not professional) vendetta towards Trump. If she cannot report news without unnecessarily bringing Trump into it, she should retire. I donate to PBS, but I'm looking for other news sources.

How can we even begin to clean up the toxicity in Washington if we do not Vet who is wanting these positions? If we the people have any hope for a continued democracy, this is mandatory and yet for some reason it is not. This sadly is how vacant human beings with no grasp of moral perpetuity become monsters, grifting America under the disguise of patriotism. What a sad day for those of us who have listened to his wit and wisdom for all these years. Somehow it seems to be more than thirty-three years. Every Friday evening watching the Newshour for the exchange of sharp political insight and witty remarks between Mark and David Gergen, Paul Gigot, and now the equally incomparable David Brooks, has been a weekly must. For anyone who prides himself on being politically attuned, there has been no better set of commentators. And among this select group, Mark has always been the standout--witty comments, encyclopedic knowledge of past and current political issues and figures, and wise, thoughtful remarks that put all of these other "pundits" to shame. Thank you for such wonderful work, enlightening our minds and bringing leavening humor to our perceptions of American democracy in action. A new star added to the PBS galaxy: Robin MacNeil, Jim Lehrer, Gwen Ifill, et al.

Mark Shields has been my lens for understanding a principled view of American politics. Please extend my gratitude for his years of service. His commentary has been intelligent, insightful and convivial. I will miss him an awful lot.

I'm leaving a message about programming on my local PBS station, WHYY. I'm here in Philidelphia. I'm really upset that they are playing the Frontline interview with the 2020 candidates, which is the most biased piece of "reporting" that I've ever seen. They are playing it here on a day when there are riots and protests and an election six days away. This is public broadcasting and that is absolutely not acceptable. The Frontline piece on Joe Biden and Donald Trump is highly biased, highly prejudicial in favor of the Democratic candidate and it makes me disgusted. I'm an actual Democrat. I really want to complain about that. I already canceled my membership for this very reason. I don't want to see it in my newspapers. I'm sick and tired of the bias. Everything seems to be fake news and it's impossible to know what to believe because of things like this. Public broadcasting stations shouldn't be biased. 

I am a PBS subscriber and I am also a subscriber to 'COMMENTARY', a conservative Jewish magazine. I am ALSO a German-American and a historian by academic training. I am quite well aware of the terrible events that occurred during the 2WK (AKA: WW2) under the Hitler regime. And yes, they were reprehensible by any definition of 'racial persecution', but I am extremely tired of having this 75+ year old drama replayed practically every week on PBS programming. If it isn't Rick Steeves preaching about the horrors of German National Socialism, it's 'The Rise of the Nazis' or the 75th anniversary of that travesty of international law known as the Nürnberg War Crime Trials.

It is quite obvious that PBS loves to rub Nazis in our faces, every time we turn around, and I for one am sick to death of it. What is also quite obvious is that bashing Nazis has become a regular pastime on PBS and I'm uncertain as to exactly why, unless it's because there's so much influence by pro-Jewish elements of American society at PBS who are behind this. In the present decade of American progressive 'Democratic identity-socialism', it appears to be conveniently overlooked that Hitler's execrable transgressions against humanity were and have been far exceeded by a full century of Soviet/Russian Communist barbarity (whose victims number in the hundreds of millions)! There have been innumerable, equally despicable villains (AKA: mass-murderers) in the past several thousand years of human history...Napoleon, Ghengiz Khan, Mao Zhedong, Pol Pot...the list is practically endless...but whom do we chose to trot out of the closet of horrors every week? Why, those lovable, ultimate mega-monsters, the German National Socialists!

The fact that Josef Stalin was ostensibly our 2WK 'ally', who shared in the defeat of the German Third Reich (and a subsequent victory-wreath) endowed his utterly barbaric depredations (mostly against his own people!) with a most convenient blanket immunity from worldwide censure that has been conveniently swept under the historical carpet. Had the Soviets been on the losing side, make no mistake in thinking that Stalin would have escaped the same sort of carnival-like miscarriage of justice that the Nürnberg Tribunal defendants faced. Despite the populist ballyhoo that portrays the Nürnberg Tribunal as just and fair, a preponderance of objective jurists today condemn them as an absolute, utter farce. They were in fact a travesty of proper jurisprudence and the equivalent of a virtual 'Old West Style' lynch mob right from the beginning!

Reichsmarschall Herman Göring, in his lengthy prepared statement before the Tribunal, presented many compelling arguments in his defense (and the defense of the other defendants), but today the lucidity and practical cogency of his testimony is also conveniently ignored and/or overlooked by liberal historians. Göring masterfully summarised his testimony with the chilling reminder that “Der Sieger wird immer der Richter und der Besiegte stets der Angeklagte sein” ("The victor will always be the judge and the vanquished the accused").

In summary, enough is enough. It's time to stop beating a dead horse. Stop fanning the leftist liberal 'SOCI' (for that was the popular term for socialists, back in Germany's 1930s) flames and let's get on with life in the present moment! We have enough things on our cultural plate to worry about without being accused of being 'closet Nazis' every time we turn around!

One final thing: What is termed 'Anti-semitism' is a gross misnomer. The proper term should be 'Anti-Jewish' or 'Anti-Zionist', since the term 'semite' applies to all peoples of the Southwest Asian region and therefore unjustly impugns the entire range of Arab peoples, none of whom are Jewish.

Just recently signed up for PBS passport. Since signing up, I have noticed language censorship. Why, and is there a way to disable it?

My wife and I are avid watchers of the PBS Newshour and enjoy what we feel is excellent and fair reporting. We are also long standing supporters of NPR. We have, however, been very disappointed by the biased reporting by Yamiche Alcindor. As I watch her manage to take any positive news that involves Republicans and turn it into a negative, I wonder how it is that she has been given such editorial leeway. I always wait for the...but...which is the signal she is about to move into her biased agenda. The Newshour has a great team of reporters, however, Alcindor does not, in our opinion, maintain the same level of professionalism.

I watched almost all of the PBS News Hour election special, and was disgusted by the obvious liberal bias of your news anchor Judy Woodruff. At about 1 am last night (November 4th 2020) Judy Woodruff made a statement about republicans being "rural, and without a college education." I am an independent but my family is all college educated republicans and the assault on them was unjust and uncalled for. Ever since David Gregory got fired as moderator of Meet the Press, I have relied on PBS for what I felt was the last unbiased news. It makes me sad that the last reliable news station in this country has been corrupted by anchors like Judy Woodruff who would rather report their opinions over facts. I will no longer be watching PBS News Hour, and no longer recommend it to others who are tired of the far left and far right news. I'm sure this email wont even be read but it's important enough that I have to try. My last remaining source of unbiased news media is foreign news like german Deutsche Welle. Even though many of the topics on Deutsche Welle are impertinent to me as an American, the lead anchor Brent Goff is always on point. His interviews are full of poignant unbiased questions and he never puts forward his opinions, only facts. I hope some day PBS News Hour can find an anchor like Brent Goff who can return your news station into the hub of information it once was. Thank you for reading.

The video from David Brooks home webcam has been TERRIBLE for 6 MONTHS!! This is a feature segment. It looks really poor, it's distracting. Look at Jonathan Carhart crystal clear, David is badly out of focus/cloudy. Look! An excellent camera is $100. I'd be honored and happy to donate that new camera.

Dear Mr.Shields and Mr. Brooks, A former Marine asked last Friday "why can't America have 2 Presidents?"

Taught to fight after Vietnam mostly with other Marines on base after years of being kicked out of exceptional schools over fighting, this 65 year old who got a GED from Jesuit in Dallas, predictably claims to have voted, after finally staying out of prison for a score of dwi's. Yes he never went to jail while I represented him for 1 score of cases. But later, penniless, the Tennessee solution presented itself and thankfully he quit.

Impressed by wealth and touched by narscasim himself, this man who used to con many others, has always been vulnerable to bigger cons. He took care of a disabled sister who is now cared for under Medicaid but fails to understand Texas Republicans would starve the program if they could.

Ironically it seems that if Biden gets to 270 with Nevada Saturday, his hero Trump will not exit with class and will claim being co president, without forcing Biden into a corrupt bargain to encourage him to leave.

McConnell wanted the will of the people. Well 2 million more selected Biden before Trump tries to use the 2000 playback to stop the count. Can't these folk be more creative?

Being an old USAF Korean veteran and living through many life lesions, I find it quite disturbing that your programing is so unbalanced.

Constantly your stations show past and present history of the Jewish people, why is this done?

This is the USA, your stations should be showing our own history of how our native people were treated rather than mostly Jewish populations in Europe, both past and present

At this time I now turn off your stations off that blast the old and new articles about Hebrews, I have heard every story too many times.

Get with our USA and show our own problems, stop living off the backs of Jewish people.

I just read Mark Shields column in my local newspaper, the Mining Journal, Marquette, Michigan. Nov. 10, 2020. The article is about two white older men who ran for president. Fire of all, I like Mark Shields, consider myself a progressive Democrat. He mentions the number voting, etc. NOT ONCE, however did M. Shields mention the choice ofKAMALA HARRIS (diversity!) -- By Joe Biden. This is a HUGE factor in the MASSIVE NUMBER of votes for Joe B.

It is still astonishing --to me--that Trump got the number that he did. I have to remind myself that many of those who voted for DT 45 are people who will vote Republican - NO MATTER WHAT forever. Many are white non educated people who think he is going to actually help them. Some Trump voters care only about what they see as the ECONOMY getting better. So really -- Not many are the extremist RIDICULOUS white supremacist wing of this group (the ones who carry guns into Michigans capitol, for example. Another part of his voters are ignorant of actual facts and do not care about the DIVERSITY of this America today. America is changing rapidly -- whether WHITE VOTERS for 45 realize that. Far more states are purple or bue than ever before. Women who voted for Trump are simply voting against their own best interests, like the women of the 50-60s who served dinner in their aprons, Handmaids tale.

Those old white men who voted for Trump need to wake up to a more diverse country. Thats just a fact of American Life.

I was calling in concern of the PBS NewsHour. I am a local viewer in Vermont. I am concerned that it is not factual news and that it is opinionated news with people sitting there to crap on the President and talk nothing but negative opinions about him. They're not basing the news on facts. It is ridiculous. You guys need to stay neutral with politics. You guys are losing millions and millions of dollars in donations. That is a fact. I watch your news daily. They just commented that Trump interrupted Biden over one hundred times but they did not mention that Biden interrupted Trump over seventy times. It is ridiculous. It is based on opinions not facts. Your news channel is a mess. Just is a Socialist Democrat who can't hold her emotions back. You guys are losing millions in donations. You need to stay neutral in politics. 

Please comment on the experimental error rate (margin of error) for the various trials. Please comment on what the placebos are in the various trials; they are not all the same. Also , why isn’t the appropriate placebo the adjuvant rather than saline? Also, why did the news media not immediately ask for the error rate? it’s the same principle as in political polling.

This reporter, who is one of the Newshour's featured, speaks so fast she is impossible to hear. Such speed trivializes the content.

I want to let you know that I have been a contributor for years and this is the straw that broke the camel's back - the disregard unbiased news stories, especially with the Hunter Biden issue and lack of support for the President. I will not be donating any longer to PBS. There are a lot of good programs, especially for my grandson. However, I can't continue to support an organization with such biased accountability. You have lost a loyal supporter and I will encourage others to do the same, and actually look toward defunding the organization. This is absolutely ridiculous. There needs to be accountability in your real, whatever that may be. I will continue to pursue that. 

I hope this is PBS. I just wanted to mention that I will never watch your station. I feel that your reporting was biased and I also felt that you were trying to make the news rather than report the news. Unbelievable that I've been watching you all these years. Maybe I have not been getting the proper news. I'm done with PBS. And your radio stations are included. They're horrible. They do exactly the same thing. I'm finished. 

Why does PBS on Youtube most times turn off their comments section. Why do most people who work for PBS show and affinity for democrats. I have watched many of your news shows and it always seems you turn off comments and then spout democratic rhetoric. I am sorry but i pay a bunch in taxes and i am curious why you use our tax dollars to belittle or under mind any conservative frame of mind.

I am going to do my best to see what i can do to have the ACT President Johnson signed and the appropriations given to CPB withdrawn or lowered. I do not see why you need hundreds of millions of dollars of our tax money to tell use how good the democrats are.

I have been an NPR listener for years. Unless you start covering Hunter Biden and the information coming out concerning the Bidens, I will listen to you or donate to you again. How dare you cut out the news. 

I have been listening to NPR for forty years. I can not believe the audacity of you not to cover real news. Unless you start covering Hunter Biden and the laptop, hotel, and other people associated with Biden, I will make sure that you never get another public dime again or from any government agency. I will work hard to defund you. 

I just got done watching "The Choice 2020: Trump vs. Biden" I was just appalled by that documentary. I have watched PBS Frontline over the years and I thought they were a pretty good year. This year, not so much. What they were trying to get us to believe is that election is all about character, temperament, persona, and personality. They said that at the end of the show. They said that policy is not the choice on this year's ballot. I don't believe that for a minute. They tried to make Trump look better than Biden. If this show was the only thing that I ever saw to make a decision, I would not vote for either man. I have been watching politics my whole adult life - some 50 years. I can tell you that Trump is a better President than Biden will ever be. This is just another propaganda film. You put some blemishes on Joe Biden. I grant you that. You tried to make him look like an empathetic figure. He's had a tough life. I'll grant you that, so have a lot of other people. To be a 78-year-old, senile man as President of the United States will not get the job done and PBS did not get the job done on this film. I'm appalled. I will never make another donation to PBS.

I am continually struck by the anti Trump bias on the Newshour, especially by Ms. Yamiche. I suggest that ALL complaints be made public. If they were I suspect it would be clear that viewer complaints are being ignored and bias tolerated.

They refuse to show comments that are contrary to their views. I have tried repeatedly over many months with no success. I use no improper language. It is scandalous. Someone needs to be fired.

I hope in February (Black History Month) 2021 you will sponsor a series on PBS about the Marching Mothers of the Appalachian Trail. These women marched for two years from 1954-56 in an attempt to get their children who was attending the all colored school in Hillsboro, Ohio to be admitted to the all white school in Hillsboro, Ohio. The children had nowhere to go because the all colored school had been set on fire and it burned to the ground. The case ended up in the United States Supreme Court, where the late US Supreme Court Judge Thurgood Marshall ( who did not argue the case) provided legal guidance to the lawyers who argued the case on behalf of the Marching Mothers. This was the first Northern desegregation case in the North and the second desegregation case in the country. I hope to be an consultant on this story and maybe future stories from the Appalachian Trail.

I'm wondering why the "Cobra" series is censored. The swear words are muted out and it really detracts from the show. All the sudden dialogue dips out. It's really annoying and it shouldn't be. Please stop doing that. It's ridiculous.

good evening sorry to attach everybody to the email I know that a lot of you guys are busy during the pandemic this email is in regards to yes Barney and friends I did a very video while back on YouTube on Barney am I got about 12,000 views on basically I was explaining why Barney is still good to have around you know I know it’s 2020 and you know Barney  is not really around on television which is bad you know I have nieces and nephew to our 2 3 4 and five and they watch shows such as SpongeBob Sesame Street is good but the message IOf love and just compassion is gone and I feel like Barney actually filled a big gap in there in the 90s and 2000s  I just hope that is a way to re-brand the product and I’ve been reaching out to certain people who would love to have the show back I know that is may take time and even years to try to get to show back to where it was but I feel that the new generation needs to experience love it’s 2020 and as I mentioned you have such things as racism police brutality things going on and I feel with Barney educated that the kids it would be good kids  will be involved the ratings will be skyrocketed like it was before so I definitely feel like it is a good way to rebrand him also all summer long I’ve been giving  multiple Barney DVDs to children hospitals in New York City lots of the kids enjoy Barney the nurses said they were still surprised that the message that he brings the kids still work so I definitely think it’s a good idea but it’s just my opinion hopefully it just gets through to you guys thank you

Today's 1A radio program was on the US 2020 Census. I would like to know when the program will be repeated, rebroadcast again. Please let me know as soon as possible so I can listen to the entire program. 

The reporter was saying that Joe Biden was just as bad as Donald Trump. That's just not true. If you care at all about this country, reporters should be supporting Joe Biden. They should be rallying around Joe Biden now. He did very well and it's only going to make him more nervous in his next debate. If you think that he did a bad job in this debate, he surely isn't going to get any better in the next debate. I think Donald Trump will. If you care at all about this country, please rally around Joe Biden. 

I love Judy & how she presses for the truth from ppl like McConnell-lying about top economists saying the American ppl are just sitting around avoiding work & collecting those HUGE-HA-unemployment checks.

But I was seriously disappointed by the discussion of the subject line, p****footing around Trump’s outrageous actions bc he got infected with Covid. This penchant to lionize is not what I expect from professional reporters. I want to hear facts, not bleeding hearts.

And if he were to die, then is he suddenly a saint? He has callously rode roughshod over the very lives of the American public, to name but one of his gross offenses against this country.

Could you please satisfy one simple, strange curiosity that I've had since you have been reporting in various settings? I have a 37-book set of classics that looks exactly like the matching red books on the shelf behind one of your reporting sets. Try as I might, I can't read the titles of the volumes! My set goes from "The Works of Balzac" to "The Works of Zola." What title are on the shelf? My set was printed by Black's Readers Service Company, Roslyn, New York, in 1925. I haven't read all 37 volumes, though I've dipped into many of them over the years! Thanks for satisfying my curiosity! - Elaine Frick, Columbia, SC.

I agree with my wife who says Yamiche should get extra pay for “hazard duty” covering the liar-in-chief and his lying den of hyenas in the cabinet. Kudos to Lisa Desjardins and William Brangham, stellar work from both! We can see this past year has been extremely difficult to be true journalists and I wish to extend my sincere gratitude for PBS Newshour’s even handed, fact based reporting.

I have been watching the News Hour for over twenty years but I can’t remember a time where the news are so biased against Trump and the Republican Party. Judy Woodruff does not miss an opportunity to chastise both. It is so obvious that is ridiculous. No wonder I hear the president wants to defund you. I really miss Gwen Ifill and Jim Lehrer. Please correct for the country’s sake.

My husband and I are appalled that you are using children's shows to push socialism and leftist information. The riots in Portland have ruined a once beautiful city. We are offended that anyone thinks this is ok! We are canceling our membership to OPB PBS.

I love PBS, but News Hour needs to stop leaning to the left and get it to the center. I'll give one example from yesterdays program, when talking about the presidents response to the protesters that were shout by that young man they said he shot the protesters but failed to mention that they were attacking him and said the president was defending the action, but he said it was under investigation. The people need to hear both sides. If they are unable to do that, then PBS should have their funding taken away. As it stands now, News Hour is a waste of tax payer dollars. Just so you know, I voted for Clinton the last election and I'm leaning towards Biden for the up coming election.

For many years I had appreciated the professionalism of The PBS Newshour management and staff. Both McNeil and Jim Lehrer had an uncanny ability to facilitate the contrasting or opposing views of their numerous expert analysts. Unfortunately, those days are long gone. The managing editor Ms. Judy Woodruff does not particularly care to host much in the way of contrasting/opposing perspectives either as expert analysts or as her correspondents. There are other reasons why the PBS Newshour has deteriorated in quality. I do not have time to go into detail. The following staff are a detriment to the program and should be replaced:

Ms. Judy Woodruff: She worked with McNeil and Lehrer and was very familiar with the objective philosophy prevalent at PBS at The Newshour. Apparently she has elected to change horses in mid-stream to a highly partisan one sided and bigoted production exemplified by her poor choice of correspondents, specifically:

Lisa DesJardin- Her family has donated how much money to CPB and PBS. Partisan Correspondent with poor journalistic skills.

Y. Alcindor-Partisan Correspondent with poor journalistic skills.

Shields and Brooks- Obsolete Editorials Infuriatingly one sided partisan, lacks fairness and objectivity.

I am deeply concerned that NPR is running articles for a pro-Looting book entitled "In Defense of Looting". The title is not ironic or sarcastic like "In Praise of Folly" or something, which is what I thought before paging through the book's sample pages on Amazon. I thought this might have been something like that at first. It's not. The book literally advocates theft and rioting, and among other things that make no sense, claims private property is racist, which doesn't even make sense from an Anarchist perspective, since property just wouldn't exist. "Property is theft" is the line from Proudhoun, if I recall. I'm a lifelong liberal, and social justice advocate (I taught in the prisons and I have a program for undeserved adult learners), but this is just absurd. I can't believe taxes are funding this trash.

I'm also writing my congressman and senator. I have listened to cartalk for years and I know NPR has had fine shows, and am a huge believer in public programming, but this is just appalling. I think the total and complete lack of standards needs to be addressed and they need to stop promoting violent, insane anarchists who advocate crimes if they want public monies. These types of maniacs are going to get Trump re-elected and get public broadcasting defunded.

For the love of God, take care of this. I enjoy watching Neil Coward and Broadway on PBS. I'd like to continue to do so.

I am a devoted viewer of PBS. I watch PBS because I learn so much and very much respect Judy Woodruff and other journalists and analysts who work closely with Judy Woodruff. I wanted to see if any assistance could be provided by Judy Woodruff and all involved who critiqued the very disturbing outcome of the debate. Simply asking that the Presidential Debates are handled with more decorum . Chris Wallace represented Fox but it seemed he lost ability to control racial slurs and constant interruptions made by President Trump . As a result, extra time was made for him at Biden’s and the viewers expense. President Trump should have been disqualified . He violated every rule of diplomacy in a debate. Wallace tried to set limits but failed . Perhaps a new rule to Turn individual microphones on for time granted and when time is up , turn it off. If not abided by , he should have lost his turn. At least Vice President Biden did more to explain facts with less time allowed. Once again President Trump got the attention he so desperately needs. To him that is a “Win”. He does not have what it takes to be a responsible or respectable President. Less viewers will want to see more debates after the first one tonight if this is all we can expect. What a biased program - the announcer used slippery language to fault the Republicans for refusing to approve the skinny pandemic bill when it was actually the Democrats. Appalling. Can't you hire real journalists?

Why do you play bad shows during pledge time? It doesn’t cause me to pledge. In fact, when I see one of these “infomercials” with someone selling the latest diet book or most nutritious eating plan, I just turn the channel. I just want to see the regular shows, or maybe a ballet. Really, are these informercials all you can come up with?

For the next president debate, unless it’s the candidate’s two minute turn their microphones should be muted.

At end of program there was a short piece encouraging children to pick up pine cones to use in a variety of different ways. Although that is excellent to suggest, many creatures hide out in pinecones, especially scorpions in the South. This could be very hazardous to young children and you should encourage kids to have parents check the cones out before they smell, paint, and take apart the cones. Thank you

PBS is nothing more than a Propaganda Broadcast System, continually hard left leaning. Trying to twist the true facts of what's happening in this country, one example is, agreeing with looting, burning police cars, blocking off city streets, and shooting anyone who crosses that line. It seems the Ken Burns documentary on CRISPR had a healthy attitude of “approach with caution” , whereas this latest Nova episode has shown the use of CRISPR in a positive “go forward and make the world a better place” kind of light... which causes me great pause and suspicion of certain financial backers of PBS. There should be approval before a CRISPR ethics board prior to release of such materials to the general public. It’s basically an ad or a stamp of approval to use such an entity as Nova to endorse this powerful piece of science to the public. I fear the train has left the station. Shame!

I am consistently frustrated by Judy Woodruffs inability to manage interviewees. Just now, in her interview with Jared Kushner, she let him go on and on praising Trump’s efforts on Covid etc and she couldn’t get a word in or rebuttal. This is a very consistent and very troubling failure to keep the news factual and not mis-information or misleading. Its time for stronger leadership on the News Hour. I am a PBS/NPR sustaining member and have been watching the news hour since the 1980s. I increasingly do not like what I’m seeing.

there are many qualified people at this show, however Judy Woodruf is not one of them. She is lost after asking one shallow question- that which is already writter for her. She cannot think on her own of any credible follow up or rebuttal to obviscations from people she is interviewing. Her interviews of reporters are so shallow it's so clear the questions are rehearsed. She struggles for words when that happens and is not a journalist. I happen to be watching the Democratic National Convention on PBS this evening, the third night, and I see Mark Shields go into this diatribe about George Floyd being killed by a white person. George Floyd's family said that it was personal, that he didn't get along with the officer - Chauvin. Apparently, Chauvin worked as a bouncer at a bar for twenty years and George Floyd was also hired as a bouncer of the bar or club. It could have been that Chauvin was caught dealing drugs or shaking down somebody or that George Floyd was wanting in on his side gig. George Floyd's family said it was personal so that takes the race out of it. Why is that piece of crap Mark Shields still on TV. It is disgusting. Anyway, keep doing what you're doing. I have a large problem with the way you are trying to program kids to be activists. I have not been watching your channels for years because of your liberal views. I have noticed in the past when I watch PBS that their news is slanted to the left but I was really surprised how the comments were so different from the Democrat National convention compared to that of the Republican national convention. PBS raises money to stay on the air and their news should be unbiased.

If they wanted to stay unbiased all the station would have Of had to do was to televise each speaker without anybody from PBS making comments. The American people can think for themselves they don’t need a commentator giving us their opinion.

I'm calling as a mom with four kids under age seven. I just wanted to say that I'm very disappointed in the programming. I'm very disappointed with Arthur in particular. I really thought that was a good channel to help good values like kindness and respect, but I'm very disappointed. I think they're too young to be told about world problems or even U.S. problems. They started sticking racism in there and I don't like for them to be told that kind of stuff yet. It's too young. I'm very disappointed. I think you need to let kids be kids. I'm calling in regards to PBS Kids - the Arthur show. I was just watching this show with my son. I just want to say that I'm offended on what I just saw. I do not appreciate hearing for 15 minutes about how I have to be anti-racist. My son is four years old. He's trying to be a kid right now. For some reason, this narrative that somehow grew on the left of the political spectrum, is now working its way into PBS Kids. The fact that you guys get hundreds of millions of dollars from taxpayers money, my money. It's not your right to shove a political narrative down the throats of children that are too young to know what you're doing. It would make sense if the statistics were true and African Americans were being disproportionately treated with racism daily, but they're not. Not statistically. Racism exists but not to the wide degree that the left is trying to push right now. We have an election going on right now, and after years of this show being on air this narrative shows up. It's appalling that you guys have to jump on the bandwagon with no regard to parents. 

Everytime I come across her reporting or questioning officials, she shows her lack of knowledge, and you should be embarrassed to have her represent you. And as a taxpayer I find it egregious that the public pays for this . You should be better than supporting someone who is just asinine.

When I was 19 years old and in college, I, a Cuban young woman (nacida y criada en Cuba) who prided herself on speaking Americanized English, worked at a college library to put myself through college (something that most college kids refuse to do nowadays). The college librarian one day said to me, "Would you mind calling Miami for me? I hate having to call down there. They can barely speak English." She didn't know I had been born in Cuba.

In typical "PBS leftist belief," that comment would have been considered a crime that terminally injured my "feelings," and therefore perfect for StoryCorps or some anti-American documentary geared to "explain" how evil America and its people are to minorities.

Please know that when the librarian said that to me, I agreed with her 100%! Refugees to any country should be legal, but not only that. They should also never refuse learning and education, and in particular should never ignore (or refuse to learn) the language of the country that offered them safety.

PBS does minorities no favors by encouraging or excusing their flaws, or by disabusing others of the idea that they should be expected to excel.

A few days ago I decided to return to PBS for a few days to watch your current programs, and I found that except for the English programs from the BBC, more than 50% of what you air, are anti-American programs. It's the reason I had ceased watching PBS altogether and discourage others from watching it.

Thank God I ignored your leftist beliefs back then. If I hadn't, I might have today been rioting for nothing other than manufactured mainstream media racism.

Could you political coverage of the Republican Convention be any more biased? You're supposed to report the news. You're a taxpayer funded organization, yet you're a mouth for the Democratic scumbag party. All you people are disgusting. It's disgusting to sit her and listen to you. I demand you return all taxpayer funds. You disgusting human beings. You're not even human beings. That would be a compliment. My god you people are sick. 

I chose PBS to watch the Republican National Convention Monday night because I though it would be fair, being publicly funded. I was sadly disappointed. Many of the speeches and films were omitted by PBS. What is worse, the producers chose to cut away from many speeches, using the time to frame each speech in a negative way. Instead of analysis, commentators gave a rebuttal to what had just been said. The result was that PBS viewers were denied many of the strongest speeches of the evening, including Andrew Pollack, father of Meadow who was killed in Parkland, and Georgia Democrat representative Vernon Jones, who gave an impassioned defense of his planned vote for Trump. I conclude that you did not want those messages to be heard. You called Donald Trump, Jr’s speech “angry,” yet some of his warnings were illustrated by your own network: censoring the RNC convention and changing the who tenor, tone, and effectiveness of the presentations. You illustrated the dangers of “cancel culture.”

I have seen an increasing leftist bias at PBS and CPB. The worst part is your use of lies and exaggerations, unchecked by Judy Woodruff or others on the panel. Yamiche Alcindor dishonestly said that Donald Trump said “there were fine people” among the white Nazis at Charlottesville. He never said that. He said there were “fine people on both sides,” referring to those local residents who wanted to preserve their historical statues on the one side, and those who wanted to demonstrate against racism on the other side. There were truly fine people on both sides, and Ms. Alcindor grossly misrepresented this and many others facts. In response, Judy Woodruff praised her skills as a reporter. Needless to say, Ms. Alcindor is not an unbiased news reporter but a political pundit of the worst sort (a liar).

There were many other lies and distortions offered by Woodruff and others on the panel, but the above examples provide representative samples.

I am very unhappy to see my tax dollars going to support leftist ideology as you do in many of your programs. I would never personally support PBS unless it seriously reforms its policies toward neutrality.

I'm calling to give you feedback on your public television reporting. From my opinion, it's completely biased and it has continued to become more and more biased over the years. I am no longer donating in any form to public television. I have donated in the past over the years. I will not be watching. I will not be donating in any way or form because I believe that your reporting is completely biased and its out of control. I would vote for any defunding of public television of my tax dollars as well. I think you guys need to evaluate your programming. I was saddened to watch PBS last night, well after the Demo convention started. And all I saw was your tallking heads. Reminds me of watching a basketball game and having talking total nonsense, and making it very obvious they are not even watching the game. That what I saw last evening. Your talking heads are as dumb as the rest of us, but paid more. I find them uninteresting, aged and tired. We need to have a public broadcast system that just shows the news, and does not bend the forces of the monied class. You always state that the BBC is your model. However that media is also nonsense. Just a continued exhibit of the loving, ruling class. Big houses/Small brains. Try to do better. Do not comment on the event. Broadcast event. Do not replay 40 year old BBC content. Broadcast contemporary plays. Broadway is dead now. Use some of your cash to get one stage up and running. We do not need a cast of thousands. Many very good content can be result with just few actors. A stream such as Britbox is just ruining your reason for dumping ancient BBC junk down the PBS tube. How about live broadcasts from the Supreme Court. Congressional Hearings. Reports from the CDC. I judge that PBS has moved into the junk status, a grand idea, but not a grand outcome. Just show the convention. We can make up our own minds.

I am a moderate republican. I have in the past been a supporter of PBS until you became political. I can tolerate debates about ideas, ideology and other public views. I do views taking a political position and being critical of a person in a wheel chair, regardless of political views as a cheap and undignified criticism of anyone. I know you are a liberal organization and as such will act accordingly but you truly should as an organization reevaluate your standards. I no longer contribute. I found your values long ago did not align with mine.

The inability to see anything from a central view is very disappointing, long time listener increasingly turned off by the silliness portrayed by your correspondents. Hoping for better....

Please be aware the EAS notices being broadcast on my TV on KCET and KOCE are illegible for obvious reasons. They are written in light print on green background. Optimal communication techniques should be used for these important messages. The most modicum visual research reveals black on white to be best. My vision is fine and i can’t make out those messages on the green background so i can only imagine they're useless for others who may have vision issues. Please use any influence you may have to correct this problem.

I was very disappointed with your coverage of the republican convention. To interrupt speeches, to inject opinion or to redirect the message is wrong. Provide the coverage and allow people to formulate their own opinions. I watch alot of news and most on PBS but there is never an opposing view point. Washington Week is especially guilty. The BBC has also become more bias. As a periodic contributor to public television I will consider redirecting my contributions.

I enjoy watching the PBS newshour regularly. Judy's coverage on 8/19/20 was poor -- we need less talking heads (panel of experts!) and more uninterrupted coverage of the convention. She continued to interview PBS talking heads throughout the night rather than show the audience what was happening at the convention. During performances, videos, etc. -- your coverage was more about PBS than the democratic convention. Please reconsider -- I don't care what talking heads have to say until the end of the evening!

I was very unhappy with the coverage of the RNC as well as the DNC. We do not need a panel discussion and comments after every speaker. I would like something that just had the information and let us figure it out. For public broadcasting to manipulate the content by having the discussion and not having more content. Some of those speakers we did not get to see. I had to go to other links in order to try to ascertain that coverage. For me a public broadcasting system should be able to do that, especially for something like the RNC or the DNC. I personally do not need to have it spoonfed to me. I just want the facts. 

I'm watching "Travels to the Edge - with Art Wolfe" right now and I'm very disappointed because he is riding an elephant. My husband and I went to Thailand a few years ago and riding elephants is strictly forbidden there. It's very cruel because the frames that they put on them are made out of metal. There are three men riding on the elephant. How could Art Wolfe not know that it is not okay to ride on an elephant?

If you are so sure about the horrors of Portland, please come and take an actual look. I want you to know that I am thoroughly disgusted I got from listening to the woman who kept everything together. She is very good at APPEARING not to have bias. But it was subtlety apparent that she does. She has that right but not on national tv, not while covering the political party she is in opposition to! She was very cunning. However, I have to say that the people she talked with seemed to be somewhat complimentary to the convention speakers even though she tried to shoot down or water down what they were saying. There was one person in her camp that tried to keep a fairness going in her reporting. She is black and wears black-framed glasses. Sorry, I cannot recall her name.

We love NPR and PBS..... most of the time. Until they get political, which is a lot more often these days. Since some of my tax dollars go to support NPR and PBS, I have a couple of questions that I would like to get answers to. What is the mission statement and or the ethical guidelines for new reporting. If these are publicly supported entities, are they supposed to strive for objective non partition reporting and commentary? If so, why did most of the commentators making comments after the various speeches at the Democrat convention have mostly glowing commentary about the various talks at the Democrat convention and mostly negative comments after the Republican convention speakers. One has to wonder if there is significant bias in NPR and PBS news reporting. If so, is this what you want this organization to be known for? Maybe you the board are OK with that. If so, can you at least put a disclaimer on your news reporting? I have a suggestion....particularly when it comes to something like the conventions. Do NOT make comments after the talks. Let the public decide. Unless you think the public is stupid, the public does not need your commentators to pick apart every speech.

PBS and NPR have complained a lot about foreign entities manipulating our elections. If the goal of NPR and PBS is to manipulate the vote, are they not just as guilty as a foreign power trying to manipulate the way Americans vote? Would not your board and NPR and PBS be hypocrites when they complain about foreign interference in our elections when you yourselves are trying to manipulate the vote?. We who love NPR and PBS expect better of you....unless of course, it is your goal to influence our elections, then just admit it Inquiring minds would like to know your answers to these questions. I used to watch the McNeil - Lehrer without fail. It was superb and about as unbiased as one can expect. Today the 'news' reported is highly selective and is basically an extension of the Left and the Democratic Party. Honestly , it is rather pathetic and a joke trying to pose as 'journalism.' Today , I might watch it for a few minutes just to see the thinking/propaganda of the liberal establishment. Then I turn it off.

Unfortunately there is no TV news that even tries to offer objectivity. PBS, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN are conventional Left and Fox is conventional Right with MSNBC being far Left. PBS could provide a real service by reporting the news like in the old days and then have a segment of balanced political pundits for the remaining hour of the segment. Of course, that will not happen, PBS is committed to its Leftist focus.

Too bad. With very few exceptions (again when it ventures into the political realm) PBS offers excellent- the best on TV.

Will CPB report on California voter fraud?

While watching programs on Dayton Ohio Think tv, Channel 16/14 via antenna on a daily basis, the volume of the upcoming programs or commercials if you want to call them that, are tremendously, tremendously loud once the program has ended. So much so that I have to lower the volume a great deal ahead of the ending of the current program to eliminate the blaring high volume. While I have loved PBS for ages, I'm not so much in love with this huge volume issue.

I've noticed Judy Woodruff has not been hosting the PBS Newshour for the past 2 evenings (starting Monday, July 13, 2020); it's been hosted by Amna Nawaz. Why? Ms. Nawaz does a good job, but I very much prefer Ms. Woodruff. There is something about Ms. Woodruff's calm, self-composed, reassuring, clearheaded demeanor which allows her to ask probing questions while still maintaining a distance, an apparent objectivity, and a professionalism, that is extremely rare in journalism. Also, I see Ms. Woodruff as having earned, in what was a male-dominated profession, and continuing to deserve, her anchor position - I am concerned that ageism and/or reverse discrimination attitudes in PBS and the wider world may now be working against her. Ms. Nawaz is young, and she may, with experience, sound a tad less judgmental when interviewing guests (she projects no obvious party bias - just a slightly judgmental tone) - but I say, let Ms. Woodruff anchor until she doesn't want to or can't - like any of the famous male anchors before her.

Tonight on Judy Woodruff's report, Lisa Desjardins said that a pardon is technically for someone that has already served their sentence. When Richard Nixon was pardoned by Gerald Ford he had not served a sentance. It is unclear and ambigious what she said. Please clarify this.

I watch Sit and Be Fit all the time and I enjoy the program a lot. I just wanted to let you know that viewers enjoy it and we don't want to see it go away.

I would like to see if anyone could do an investigation of NPR. The words that they're using contains a lot of bias, unconscious bias. The host of the program Latino USA said that someone's mother "went back to Mexico because she was so tired of being undocumented." I fully understand the circumstances. However, I don't think she could be "tired of being undocumented" because she wasn't supposed to be here from the very start. It's very interesting the wording that they use. It creates an unconcious bias of liberalism.

Hi  Our family has been supporting PBS (Local KCTS, Seattle) for at least 35 years.   We currently donate $20 a month to KCTS.   My sons were raised on the excellent quality TV your channel provided.Technology has moved on and streaming has become a very useful and popular method of watching programs.   No panic about missing episodes and catching up to watch a series can be done at the viewers' convenience.   Too bad this is not available to Canadian viewers and supporters of PBS. I have contacted my local station and asked them why this is the case.   I get very defensive and vague answers about "copyright and distribution issues".   I have asked them how many Canadian supporters/contributors they have.   It is a substantial % of their contributing viewers.   I am sure this is true right across Canada.  Yet none of us can stream PBS content.   My question is how can copyright issues apply to programs like Frontline, American Experience and Nova where surely you own the copyright.   Further, very little effort has been made by PBS to explain the situation to Canadian viewers.   There is NOTHING on PBS websites explaining the details nor providing information about what we can do.   For example, we can and do stream "Newshour" over Youtube.  Can we do this with all PBS programs?   Yes/no?   Why some but not others?  We are extremely disappointed in PBS.  Our 35 years loyalty is being tested.  Why should I donate to PBS when we cannot get some basic services and answers AND PBS does not seem to care one bit?   This makes no sense to me. I really would encourage PBS to look at the contributions Canadians make to your revenues and then ask yourself whether you cannot do better - at least by informing us of the problems in an informative, transparent way.   I simply cannot believe that in this day and age PBS cannot stream its own content where ever it wants. The CPB broadcasts Amanpour and Company. The program is hosted by Christine Amanpour. If there is a case to be made for incitement to riot charges being brought against Ms. Amanpour, than CPD would be liable would it not. To whom can such a complaint be sent, please.

Is there any chance that an episode or two of "Vicious" (the entire series was never, I believe, shown here) might be shown here in Los Angeles PBS? I believe only one episode was shown. PS: Would you, could you have KOCE channel 50 cut out its clanging NOISE between programs? I'm not the only one who feels that it's most irritating--and for no good reason, unless of course, there's some station weird person who likes to do that and can't live without it.

I've been a PBS subscriber and I've supported PBS and watched the NewsHour my entire life. I'm a little disturbed by what I've seen more recently. What I'm seeing could only be called virtual signaling, very extreme left virtue signaling. One of the specifics about that is Black Lives Matter. They basically are falling all over themselves, even with anchors saying, "we support Black Lives Matter." A news organization shouldn't support anyone. While I absolutely agree with the hashtag black lives matter, the organization itself is a very radical left organization. The people funding them are extremist Marxist radicals. You have done nothing to research that and bring that out into the public. The reality is they're a project of a group, you can find this online, that is Thousand Currents. Two of the leaders of that group were a part of the Weather Underground. One had a 56 years jail term for bombings during the 70s, a sentence that was commuted by Bill Clinton. The other had a 16 year sentence for similar activities. The Black Lives Matter organization is a project of this. They are an extreme Marxist group. You are pandering to the extreme left, which I've never seen the NewsHour do before. I'm disgusted by it. I think you've handled the right pretty fairly as far as exposing the extremes on the right. When it comes to the left, you seem to be more and more blinded every single day and your reporting seems to be more and more pandering to extreme right viewpoints. That is something you need to check or else I'll stop watching.

I rely on PBS news programs to give me unbiased accounts of factual events and information. This is why I urge PBS to do a better job of locating accurate stock footage to accompany stories in order to avoid the appearance of bias towards people of color. For example, on the Monday, July 20, 2020 broadcast of the PBS Newshour, a story by Amna Nawaz about the first Covid-19 case in the US began with a stock photo of an African American man on a gurney in front of an ambulance, followed by a photo of a different African American man in front of a hospital. The story was about the first covid case in the US which was a 35 year-old white male from Washington state. The photos of African Americans at the beginning of this story were misleading and unfair. PBS news programs can and should do a better job of finding photos and videos that more accurately match the events and information being reported so that viewers don't connect negatively to people of color, especially African Americans. If no stock footage is available, it would make sense to show the location to the viewers. Images of the US minority population should not account for the majority of images seen on the news in connection with negative events such as disease, crime and poverty. I ask the PBS Newshour to take a closer look at how people of color are portrayed on their platform. Thank you.

I have not been able to financially support PBS for some time now due to the level of bias that is displayed on the NewsHour. There is no objectivity in their reporting, and the disdain they have for the president is obvious. I will be watching on election night only to watch how they try to control themselves from crying after the president gets re-elected.

Shame on you. Up until a few days ago I could watch the news via the Fire stick/PBS app almost in real time. Now the current day's broadcast is showing up 2-3 hours later than available on broadcast. This in no way shape or form inspires me to donate to public broadcasting.

I’ve been watching PBS News Hour for many years. Many of my friends and family have stopped watching because they believe it only airs one side politically but I refused to listen until tonight. It saddens me to see the bias so clearly. I live in Oregon and have been following the events in Portland closely. I can’t understand how all four of the reporters got the story wrong in such a identical way. It is widely understood by people living in the Portland area that there are two separate events going on. There are the demonstrators who know to go home sometime after dark because they know the night shift comes on around 11:00pm. The night shift are the rioters. Also Mayor Wheeler in an interview stated he didn’t want federal law enforcement to leave. He just wants them to stay inside the Justice Building. This is very different from this evenings report. The only explanation is that PBS News Hour was pushing a narrative. I will not watch again.

We have supported pbs for years but due to the recent ad whereby someone selected a white female and a black man for your ad we will no longer donate to pbs. We feel it is supporting the black cause which is totally destroying our country because of the heathens that are ruotIng/looting and destroying property. Shame on PBS!

CPB and PBS exist to serve the people without white privilege. If you're serious about your mission, pull the plug on legacy players like Ken Burns and use the funding and airspace they suck up to support programming that actually reflects today's realities.

SUBJECT: Rural Bias, CPB? COMMENT: It's great to see that rural public media stations received $75 million via CPB through the CARES Act to stay alive during the coronavirus crisis, but it's hard not to think of "rural" as code for "white" in this context. If the CPB ombudsperson were to closely examine the people benefiting from this windfall, what would they look like?

I would like to contact the show regarding the 1850 and 1860 slave censuses that Dr. Gates mentions about not having names. I have been trying to find a way to start a program where names can be added to those censuses using the 1870 census, probate records, and records such as tax lists and slave sales. Also making use of the plantation records themselves - for instance, I used to work for Alex Haley and we discovered that the family cookbook for the Jackson family (for the series "Queen") that is in a college library in Alabama had the slave births and deaths recorded at the end of the book. Other records like this should exist. It would be a major project but it might help connect families better. I used to work in Salt Lake City also, and knew Johni Cerny. I was sorry to hear about her death.

I’ve written to PBS previously imploring you to not broadcast anything which includes a clip of Trump. At minimum, please do not include his voice. I suspect there are still people who are repulsed by seeing and hearing Hitler and Mussolini. I am repulsed by both seeing and especially hearing Trump. His is the worst of humankind. Yesterday’s (6/24) PBS Newshour included at least 4 clips of that monster, including his pontificating. I had to leave the room each time, and finally turned off the program entirely.

Please, the PBS Newshour, and especially Judy Woodruff’s contributions to it, is a vitally important source of objective, balanced, and insightful reporting. Including clips of Trump does not enhance its newsworthiness, and in fact is a terrible detraction.

Dear PBS News Hour Staff--

I am upset and appalled at the placement of a PBS News Hour donation solicitation featuring two old white people which cut into the reporting about systemic racism in America and the interview with Black men in Minneapolis who were accused by an old white man of using a gym without permission.

Just in the middle of a statement by one of the men, the was a "commercial" interruption of two old white people asking for donations to PBS and specifically in support of the PBS News Hour. This was absolutely appalling! At this point in time, there could not have been worse timing. This donation ask last for for SIX MINUTES! There was important information that was being shared and this pledge pitch cut into the news. Six minutes late, when the pitch was done, the viewers were returned to the PBS News Hour SIX MINUTES further into the broadcast. We were not returned to where the interruption happened. Even more disturbing was that the PBS News Hour ended one minute later, at 7:54. This means there were SIX MINUTES until the top of the hour, when the next program was starting. That pledge pitch didn't have to interrupt the News Hour.

You literally interrupted a young Black man in the middle of an interview, showed us two old white people asking for donations to PBS and the PBS News Hour and they kept going on and on about the great tote bag the we will all be able to carry around to prove we are part of the same community...

MY COMMUNITY WOULD NOT HAVE INTERRUPTED IMPORTANT INFORMATION ABOUT RACIAL INJUSTICE IN AMERICA TO ASK FOR DONATIONS AND DISCUSS THE MERITS OF HAVING MATCHING TOTE BAGS!

This is outrageous.

I'm calling to report that I'm really upset that Live from Here is being canceled. It's such a great show. It's one of the reasons why I listen to public radio. I urge you with any speed, all haste possible, to bring it back whenever it can be brought back. I realize that the pandemic is taking a hit and making it hard. You can't cancel the show. It's one of the best things on radio.

CPB was created to champion programming that takes creative risks and addresses the needs of unserved and underserved audiences, "particularly children and minorities." Yet 7 of 8 CPB board members and 11 of 12 CPB senior leaders are white. It's time to change. (This is a comment on the substance of public broadcasting; publish it online.)

I'm curious if this organization has oversight for Yamiche Alcindor, who has been writing incredible things that I don't agree with - that there are no anarchists involved with these protests in Washington. There's clear evidence to that and I think you should start policing your reporters to basically report true happenings. This is outrageous what is going on.

Passport lacks the ability to "resume" a program you have started. Since many of the programs are information dense, this feature would greatly facilitate full appreciation of these marvelous productions.

Your commentators have overlooked this critical fact regarding Trump and the Bible: It is a direct affront to the Constitution's stipulation of the separation of church and state.

I have stopped watching PBS News and some of the other programs because too much of the truth is left out. Reporters of News and producers of certain documentaries purposely pick and choose what they want to report either based on their personal belief or that of PBS. The public is given only a one sided version of the truth. The Media in general never reports all the facts and continues to incite and divide people more so than any of the politicians out there. When Gwen Ifill was reporting in the 2016 election after Trump had announced his running for President, She refused to initially report or acknowledge that fact he was running for President even though it was public knowledge and obvious News. Another program I watched recently on Islam was very one sided - did not tell the Truth about Muhammed being a warrior who conquered others lands and took slaves and murdered members of his own tribe, they made him out to be a peace loving person guided by god which is far from the truth. The program did not tell the truth about Islam and their hatred and persecution of Jews, Christians and homosexuals and the Sharia and honor killings. If you can't tell the whole truth then don't air the program. Very Disappointing direction PBS has taken and ALL the Media. News reporters should represent all sides and the facts as they exist not just their personal opinions and they should not try to influence people a direction because of ideology. The only thing worth watching on PBS these days are the travel shows, cooking and gardening. You should get out of the News business, we don't need anymore biased propaganda.

This past week has been pledge week, and one of the special programs on Georgia Public Broadcasting was "The Longevity Paradox with Dr. Steven Gundry." I watched, as a loyal PBS supporter for decades, and I was seduced by his charming presentation, ending up with $180 being donated to PBS to receive his program in 6-8 weeks. Being close to 75 years of age but with some sense left in my head, I then did some research on Dr. Gundry's conclusion and found that he was just the opposite of what is considered scientific and beneficial to the public. Numerous respectable sources consider his research and conclusions slipshod and even dangerous. I have written to Dr. Gundry, and I have requested my PBS contribution be cancelled in full. I want nothing to do with his questionable products or conclusions. I want you to know this so as not to allow him back on any PBS stations in the future for fundraisers. Hello, I am an avid Canadian viewer of the PBS News Hour. I am an avid viewer of the Mark Shields and David Brooks segment. On Friday of this week, I was disappointed with Joe Biden's responses to Judy Woodruff on the topic of the previous days violence by police in Minneapolis and the subsequent outrage. I also did not understand Mr. Biden's reference to Missouri in that interview. David Brooks expressed disappointment as well, though Mark Shields gave the former vice president credit for his calm and mature stance. I wished both Shields and Brooks had seen the Amna Nawaz interview with Eddie S. Glaube Jr, in another segment of the newscast. He was outraged, but calm and thoughtful. If only Joe Biden could have seen that before his own interview, perhaps he might have quoted Glaube, and pledged to build a New America.

Henry David Thoreau, the American philosopher, said in his essay Life Without Principle, "Do we call this the land of the free? What is it to be free from King George and continue the slaves of King Prejudice? What is it to be born free and not to live free? What is the value of any political freedom, but as a means to moral freedom?"

Thoreau died in 1862, "relatively unappreciated."

The PBS Nightly news has abandoned all pretense of journalism. We used to appreciate the balance it offered in national debate, but now it's just insulting to viewers. David Brooks, a conservative???? Give me a break. He used to have some interesting commentary. Now he doesn't even try. And Judy Woodruff is so completely biased she can't even say the President's name without such tremendous, weary sadness. I kept giving the show a try, hoping they would correct this, but instead add that nitwit Alcindor, who is outrageous. I can't watch this program for even a full minute anymore. And to be clear, I am a true Independent, and have voted for both Democrats and Republicans in past years. But PBS hasn't even covered the outrageous coup attempt within the DOJ which has been a historic travesty. I'm done with PBS.

The repetition of oldies but goodies on KVOD, particularly during fund-raising, turns me off any longer...literally. Whenever Vivaldi's Four Seasons comes on air, I turn off. The same applies to the god-awful John Williams junk, trash Hollywood movie soundtracks, CPR promos, the interminable testimonials and fund-raising spiels, and corporate/capitalist advertisements. Even the repetitious playing of many of my long-time favorites, i.e. The Moldau; all of Smetana's, Rimsky-Korsakov's and Dvoraks's music; Karelia Suite (parts thereof); Peer Gynt suites (parts thereof); L'Arlesienne suites (parts thereof); not to mention the interminable excerpts from Carmen, and I either ignore them or turn off. When I return to on-air KVOD...often any longer seemingly relegated to algorithmic choice...is becoming problematic. I have tons of recorded folk and popular music from the Balkans, Germany, France, Scandinavia, and the Celtic/Gaelic nations, plus a large collection of classical music. Increasingly, I don't need KVOD...and I am sorry to have to say that since I have been a constant listener to the station, in its various incarnations, since the mid-1960s. Due to the slanted extreme right-wing political content of both NPR and CPR (I refuse to have anything to do with these outfits), I will not contribute to KVOD in any way, as long as the station licenses have any association...corporate or otherwise...with those networks.

I have never watched Frontline before but like with all of your programming you want me to pay to watch??? I always have to rail you before I ever get to watch any o fb your programs. Why is that? P.s. mI do pay to be a passport member because no one can watch your ‘free’ programming without paying so I do not understand why I cannot watch Frontline tonight???

I’m a big fan. OK? But please stop saying “Today the market rose MORE THAN . . .” When you really mean the market rose ABOUT. . . . “. You are better than that. MORE THAN means any higher number. Please stop it.

ALL of your shows (Documentaries, Nature, Frontline and Create, etc) now have music so loud it DROWNS out the dialogue and conversations. It is often musical styles which do not even relate to the style or nature of the program. This seems like someone's bad idea or way to employ relatives and friends who are musicians.

Don't blame our TV sound system. We have had the same system since 2012 and only in recent years has this happened on more and more of your programs. By the way we HAVEN'T noticed it on the limited number of COMMERCIAL TV programs we watch. We have had to stop watching MOST CreateTV shows. As far as NOVA and Frontline programs, the music has become the lame method of telling us "how to feel" during the program.

You (CPB) need to get the word out to the production teams that it is seriously out of hand. Please, no more excuses.

Hi this is Steve calling from Northern Wisconsin. I just wanted to let you know that I believe you as public TV should refuse the money from Congress, the $75 million. That money should all go to hospitals, doctors, research, curing people who are physically sick and in harms way. You people have got more money than you know what to do with. You pay your executives outrageous salaries. There is no reason that public dollars should be going your way during this hardship time. Judy Woodruff always seems loud enough but when there is a shift to a remote camera, the sound is hardly loud and clear enough. When the shift goes back to Judy Woodruff, sound becomes louder and clearer again. I've been a listener and watcher for over 50 years and do not enjoy watching PBS like I used to. I do NOT have the same problem with other networks, just PBS. I wonder why.

Why would You present shows like this that propagate hate and more racism,against Jews or any race.

There are only 2 Conservative news outlets left in our TV broadcast lineup...Fox News & One America News OAN. As in every Presidential election cycle PBS which is now totally Left leaning politically, tries to rob Americans of fact based News. i admire & respect Judy Woodruff for a job well done. Her demeanor is constant and usually intelligent. I've noticed since the C19 Quarantine she asks questions that some of us obviously already know the answer. She appears to attack in her tone. Perception is that there is puzzlement on questions that are popular and widely broadcast. ?? What's going on? Brooks & Shields is more like a volleyball in her format and seems redundant. Last night’s 4/17/2020 interview with VP Pence was painful to watch. It was like he was a wind up mouthpiece of the outright lies of White House propaganda. He went on and on about the fairytale magical message he was asked to promote about the handling of the Coronavirus pandemic, and refused to participate in any sort of dialogue with Judy Woodruff, talking over her and basically ignoring her attempts to speak until he had finished his memorized recitation. The hospitals are not overwhelmed? Everyone can be tested right now? The government has supplied all hospitals with an abundance of PPE? Does he live under a rock? And then to top it off to include a story about Biden’s alleged misconduct must have had Trump and Fox news salivating with joy. It was painful to watch Judy in such an uncomfortable position with both segments. It was shocking to see PBS contribute to the divisive nature of politics today.

I saw a video of yours in an article. The epidemiologist asks “Have you heard about the new coronavirus?” But they never said what it is or what any virus is. Then they went on to mention washing hands. If you don’t explain what a virus is, then the kids won’t understand. Kids aren’t stupid, they are ignorant. The whole idea of a video is to explain what’s going on. There is more to a kids video than cutesy backgrounds and music. Don’t be lazy, do it right.

As the 50th anniversary approaches of the shootings at Kent State, I sought out titles, including American Experience, of programs covering this event. To my surprise, there was nothing listed. Are you kidding me? Of all networks, PBS would be the one to cover those events in a fair and unbiased manner. Please let me know if PBS is planning to make these available or is planning some sort of commemoration for the events at Kent State and Jackson State that redefined the Baby Boomer generation.

I keep reading your responses to complaints about the news show bias, in which you consistently pass the buck to someone else on grounds that you have no power to do anything about them. If you don't have any power over the content of the shows despite funding them, what exactly do you do?

I have always made a point to watch PBS news programs, specifically the NewsHour over any other network station. However, over the last few months I have been so disappointed with the show, that now I will stop watching and recommending it to other individuals at work.

I have on going questions you haven't answered and should continue to answer throughout. How long must we wait for enough test kits to be made? How many testing stations are available and where? How many test are made per day? How many positive? How many are quarantined and where?

Much as I like the reporting of Yamiche Alcindor at PBS NEWSHOUR, she does the wrong thing when it comes to questioning tRUMP. Yamiche must: 1. Ask a very simple question, 2. Ask a very short question, and 3. Never ask a compound-SUBJECT question.

Time to fire Judy W. and Yamiche! They have a sickening bias. The News Hour certainly has degraded since previous times. The bias illustrated is equal to CBS,ABC and NBC. PBS is funded by the public and I would expect neutral reporting. I often change channels during Yamiche's reporting. She is a lousy presenter and much too bias.

Instead of an "annual" report, I kindly request that you provide a "weekly" or "monthly" Public Feedback Report for the White House and Congress, so that our Legislators will be CURRENT on the opinions expressed by so many of their constituents on this platform. As I read through the dozens of letters here, I have come to the conclusion that MOST PBS NewsHour viewers who send feedback are complaining of the obvious BIAS (in political views) expressed by Judy Woodruff, Mark Shields and David Brooks when these journalists should be reporting on U.S. politics and interviewing guests in an "unbiased" manner. Judy Woodruff, Mark Shields and David Brooks are obviously not supporters of President Trump and his current administration and ,more often than not, let their personal feelings set the tone of the program, leading to PBS NewsHour being more of an editorial program than a news program.

For some time I have meaning to write regarding my growing disappointment with many things WTTW does or doesn't do as well as what seems to be misguidance from the CPB. I looked up on line how to write CPB but that requires snail mail. I shall include the text of this message and snail mail it to them. Now, the Wuhan virus scare has emboldened me to write.

For sometime, I have been amazed how WTTW squanders valuable educational time during programming gaps, by using paid ads, self promotion of upcoming, yet extremely well know programs which need no promoting, rather than using those moments (often extensive) to educate. We are avid watchers of TV5 Monde from France. They, during program gaps, use the time to teach and educate. French language clips with clever teachers, human handicap issues with silly and extremely well done skits, history via the post office using postage stamps to teach that history. We, on the other hand, are subject to promotions of Downton Abbey reruns, Check Please, Suze Orman plugs, Il Volo etc etc. No teaching or education in 5-10 minute programming gaps. Public Television and local program production seems to be slipping into oblivion as more and more British programming is purchased and shown, costing lots of money inducing the need to continually ask for more and more money, rather than developing homegrown programming (I understand homegrown costs money, I am guessing a lot). Currently there is absolutely nothing addressing the current health and economic crisis that I can find, except for Chicago Tonight. When Governor Pritzker addressed the state yesterday Friday March 20, 2020 at 3PM CT, WTTW was showing its regular programming (children's programming "Nature Cat" and "Wild Kratts") not the governor. Yet WTTW covered all of the impeachment proceedings. I was absolutely bowled over this AM when tuning into WTTW to find Suze Orman peddling her books and tapes in another WTTW pledge drive. Not only was her content inappropriate for today's new economic world, it was obviously taped, old and even comical while at the same time sad, to listen to her pitch because her information is no longer valid for today’s economics, not even by a long shot. But there she was this AM at 8:40. WTTW should be ashamed. Pre-recorded re-runs of Check Please (yes, I know this is local programming) are showing as usual promoting restaurants that have been closed for a week and only serve to make people realize what they are missing. Thanks WTTW for the fingernails on a black board. WTTW should really be ashamed. Who at WTTW, completely out of touch programmers and management, does this to Chicagoland? Both CPB and WTTW are clearly missing a golden opportunity to return to the good graces of the vast non-Downton Abbey world, Congress and the politicians by reestablishing themselves as a leader in education, societal support and hope. There is no reason why Public Television can't help with some of the heavy lifting, rather than being a powder puff by mostly showing the best of British programming, instead of helping America through this crisis. I am not saying all programming needs to be dedicated to the crisis, of course not. Intelligent programming and entertainment must continue, but even a modicum of education addressing the current crisis would be welcome and be a feather in Public Television’s cap. Get rid of the Suze Orman and the other medical hucksters you have used in your pledge drives to attract contributions. Permanently! Public Television needs an upgrade and it needs it fast. You should be a shining star rather than scraping your fingernails on the blackboard

With all due respect to your organization, I find it offensive that politicians have included pet political projects within the COVID-19 Relief Bill. It is inappropriate that any entity benefits from this tragic situation beyond the effects that the pandemic has had on its own operation and employees. I encourage you to either reject this windfall blood money or donate it for the purchase of medical supplies and equipment or to a COVID-19 related charity. Hopefully, you agree that it would be shameful to benefit from this money because of people's unemployment and illness.

I'm appalled at funding for CPB was included in the coronavirus stimulus bill. I'm asking you to refuse to accept the money. You should be striving to be fully funded by those that choose to listen to you.

I find the fairly recent addition of adding a voice description of the video during any brief silence in the audio of the program to be very distracting, confusing, and annoying. I question how much value this adds to a visually impaired person. I find it so distracting that I find myself turning off any program utilizing this, even if I have an overwhelming Interest in the subject matter. I tense up at her message delivery as it is stumbles though sentences and imparts information with breathless speed. I do not mean any harm to her but some of us have gifts. Makes me sick! Watching AH program today airing a Colorado elk/bison commercial ranch for profit. Theses animals are not intended for commercial farming. They’re for wild environment ! Remember, it was commercial farming in Canada that started “Chronic Wasting Disease” by pure negligence maybe not intentional. But the risk is very high and therefore should not be allowed! CWD has now spread throughout about half of all states in the wild animal populations especially deer and elk with devastating effects. There’s no mention of in the AH programming. I listen PBS newshour podcast daily on my evening drive back to home and love their news coverage.

However in recent podcast PBS newshour I was astounded by coverage of PBS regarding recent riots in Delhi. The podcast mentioned that "Hindu mobs attacked Muslims and 10 people died". This was clearly communal violence which needs to be condemned unequivocally and where both sides lost people including policeman Ratan Lal and Intelligence officer Ankit Sharma.

PBS should not broadcast such lopsided and inaccurate coverage as it can unnecessarily challenge social harmony for Hindus living in USA.

I am thoroughly disgusted with your plans to appease the gay groups by having introduced gay relationships onto children’s programming and Sesame Street planning in introducing g a drag queen character in one of its shows. You have taken too much liberty for a station to receive so much backing from our tax dollars and I am going to have to carefully watch from now on what my little granddaughter watches while visiting me. Shame on you PBS. Mark offered that during this week's debate in SC that the only candidates on stage that remained calm and in control were two guys. (Buttigieg and Bloomberg) Though I don't own the in control meter, my take is that Klobuchar remained calm and in control. I have written to the PBS Public Editor several times about routine violations of PBS' Editorial Standards in it's political coverage. I'm not asking you for comment on merits of these concerns but want to know what recourse is available if the Public Editor doesn't even respond to my correspondence.

I can't listen to Mark Shields. He is so biased. He makes no mention how the Democrats conducted the investigation- not calling witnesses nor allowing Republications to participate in the investigative hearings. Schiff allowed no cross examination of witnesses in the committee. Shield could care less about due process. Frankly, I could care less about his opinions because he just a silly ideologue. At what point do these people forsake objectivity and integrity? Gross negligence.

I've never made a complaint before and I've been watching PBS NewsHour since I was in junior high school when it was Jim Lehrer NewsHour. Tonight I felt that the reporting, the segment on Trump's plan for peace in the Middle East, was antisemitic and anti-Israeli. I'm not a Trump supporter, but I felt that the anchor that was substituting for Judy Woodruff was using her role as a bully pulpit. I do hope that PBS News issues and apology and never makes that mistake. 

1) It is infuriating that Create programming choices put so many "Bob Ross" painting shows on the air. There are OTHER artists, and for your information, Ross obtained instruction from Bill Alexander and pretty much pirated all of his techniques without giving him any credit. Very ungrateful of him. 2) TOO MANY "TALKING HEADS!!!!!!!!" YUKKY. 3) TOO MANY COOKING SHOWS! How many "virtual meals" are we supposed to "eat"? 4) TOO MANY TRAVEL SHOWS, shows that must be directed to the "idle rich" who can actually afford to travel (to places more appealing than the ugly cities and endangered wilderness we see have in Trump's America). 5) WE NEED MORE DIVERSITY!!!!! You're starving the brain and soul of your viewers. SHAME.

The BBC feed has not come through. I'm just calling because this is not an unusual situation. It goes on and on and no one checks it at the top of the hour. It would seem like you would be concerned about this for your news watching public. 

Your moving background on the Democratic Debate is incredibly awful. It's distracting and it is giving me a headache. It's the worst. 

I'm calling because I just watched the Brooks and Shields segment on the NewsHour about the assignation of Suleiman, the Iranian general. I'm really dismayed at the apparent sanction of the American government assassinate people without taking the proper consideration. I think it's really dangerous. They made it sound like this was an okay thing. We're on the brink of disaster, potential catastrophic disaster, walking into another war like Iraq. It is irresponsible of PBS and the NewsHour to let these guys come on the air and not give thorough, unbiased opinions on these things. 

Claims of a diverse media is not accurate. The shows are mostly white orientated. The black talk shows, topic, complaints and discussion are no ware to be found on Public TV. Most of the black actors are being shown as criminals in movies as well as on news Broadcasting. The public media is showing pregidous actions in there programming and it appears to be a premeditated, sinikely established conspiracy against the male African decendants.

I can’t believe Judy woddruff closing comment about the brief but spectacular segment tonight on pain and forgiveness was simply “wow what a remarkable story”. She should have said Wow what a remarkable WOMAN!!! Very very sad remark Judy!!!!

The information presented on PBS is trusted and unbiased. I’m grateful for the professionalism. However Yamiche Alcindor is such a poor speaker that it distracts from the information. She has a halting almost stuttering speech pattern. How this is allowed to continue baffles me. I also think it’s time for Judy Woodruff to retire. Thanks for reading.

I was saddened by the latest Presidential debates, for many reasons, not the least of which was your allowing running commentary during some intermissions. The commentators were superfluous. Viewers like me need time free of talking heads. What these heads had to say was utterly superficial. Viewers deserve time for reflection without the hasty intrusiveness of commentators who seemed be speaking to an audience that hadn’t witnessed What they’re discussing. There was no real analysis, but simple summary. I support Public Broadcasting, but not this atrocious commentary. Also, can you please explain how the questioners and the commentators were chosen, and why no academics (eg. Political scientists, historians, experts in rhetoric/debate )were not chosen as either questioners or commentators?

I noticed your coverage totally omits Bernie Sanders from consideration of his candidacy for President of the USA. I consider this to be a grave infraction of your duty to function as a "Public" Broadcasting System as PBS is to be. You are evidently quite biased or partisan in your coverage. This is a disservice to the public and betrays your mission. It also makes you liable and vulnerable to being seen as just another propagandist news outlet, similar to FOX. There is a reason Sanders is so popular right now, and you must take this seriously, or you are guilty of misleading the public with a false impression. Revelations concerning widespread abuse by many commercially available social media platforms are deeply troubling.  These huge platforms have become purveyors of false advertising, both political and commercial, have participated in providing insidious foreign influence and become vehicles for rampant cyber-bullying as well as child pornography. Public trust has been violated in numerous ways, including the sale of private information, the reliance on a lack of user understanding regarding privacy settings and a paucity of legislative and self-regulation in the industry. We have all observed a failure to monitor policy and practice until finally compelled by public and political pressures.  Most alarming is the willful use of the First Amendment as a shield to ignore or avoid actions that will eliminate abuse and regain public trust with ethical behavior.

There is an approach that would effectively address many of the aforementioned unacceptable realities. That approach would be a Public Option Social Media Platform. A nonprofit platform that would offer all of the original family and friend communication services that are not problematic. There would be no advertising and no ability to disseminate false, dangerous or destructive news sources.

Conveniently, the vehicle for this concept already exists. According to its published goals and objectives, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting is a private, nonprofit corporation created and funded by Congress in 1967. CPB’s mission is to ensure universal access, over-the-air and online, to high-quality content and telecommunications services that are commercial free and free of charge.

Just as National Public Radio (NPR) and the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS) were originally designed as public options to commercial radio and television, so would this Public Social Media (PSM) option be available to those who choose to enroll.

It should be emphasized that this public option, as part of the Corporation For Public Broadcasting, like the proposals for a health care public insurance option, would be a choice to be made by each individual and would in no way be mandatory. In fact, there would be many who would want more than such a public option might offer and choose the commercial options that presently exist. It is also possible that enough individuals would support the public option so that market place forces could generate positive changes in the commercial environment.

There would certainly be many challenges to the development of an appropriate Public Option Social Media Platform but perhaps the time has come in this country for serious consideration.

I treasure and look forward to PBS news broadcast since I feel it is the most objective. I must say though that I think much of the time of the reporting is focused on the small details who said what where did they say it. Equally important is the big picture. Take a step back and look at the president's behavior both verbal and actionable. The entire situation regarding the Ukraine demonstrate the behavior of a bully. He demeans any opponent, he deflects any criticism of him to be the work of others. He does not see the bigger picture. Certainly he does not see the importance of the big picture of the United States relationship to Ukraine. He reacts positively to other person's bully behavior and of course all his focus is on himself. How often has he used the term we or the term our? I would invite the NewsHour to interview behavioral professional. I see his overall behavior as typical of what we would expect from the mob boss. His behavior has been unlike any other president in the modern era. I invite PBS to take a long broad total look at his behavior in the context of the office of the President.

My local community radio station has one signal, two repeaters and an FM translator covering our rural/semi-rural Northern California region. The station created three advisory boards for its three frequencies -- one original and two translators -- but recently consolidated them into one central advisory board. Consolidating the CABs into a central advisory board excludes reporting from most of the population it serves. Some listener areas -- including the county seat and a state university -- are a two-hour drive from the board meetings and there are diverse and distinct ethnicities, local traditions and economic, educational, and environmental concerns that I believe should be represented. As a “viewer like you” and a contributor not only to our local PBS station but to three public radio stations, I encourage PBS to broadcast gavel-to-gavel coverage of the upcoming impeachment hearing for the reasons as cogently expressed in the full-page ad published in today’s New York Times (and I presume in other newspapers as well). Regardless of one’s position on the matter, access to the information to be developed serves the very purpose for which public broadcasting was established and which is presented absent bias and spin.

As of Friday, I have been unable to pick up your stations. Wonder if it's just me or problem in my area. Thank you!

We watched it every night and enjoyed it very much. Really in depth and compresensive. We learned many interesting tidbits and facts about many of the early countyry/ hillbilly/blue grass stars we'd heard of but didn't know much about. Thank you and Ken Burns for producing such wonderful mini-series.

On Oct 23, 2019 viewers were advised to rescan as the channels were changing. I rescanned as I have done many times for various reasons. This time PBS was gone. I am about 30 miles from Sneedville, TN and have been receiving PBS very well in several location in the Tri-Cities area. I have been at my current location about three years and have always had good reception especially for PBS on channel 2. Webantenna.com lists PBS antenna requirement for my area as a multi directional antenna with amplifier. I recanned several time still no PBS. However, in my efforts I did get channel 10 out of Knoxville which is 100 miles away. I have all my other channels with no issues. Where is PBS? I have been enjoying PBS for many years. I was watching Poldark every Sunday but today no PBS. I do have a PBS app on my phone that would allow me to stream various shows. However the PBS app requires signing up with a donation. I am retired and have nothing to donate. I don't have pay tv which is why I depend on OTA tv. I am sorely disappointed that I can no longer receive PBS. I suppose we all live in a Trump world were only the people with money are served. One more reason not to vote for Trump.

Very disappointed with comment from the US Attorney General (under Bush). I watch (carefully) news for content, not insult. Too much `noise' and very little `signal.' He insulted the co-commentator at the end of the interviews with " ... a lotta syllables in there but ... not a lotta substance." Please select commentators for interview who are mature enough to match the viewership.

I do not listen much to NPR, but when I do, I always wonder why you as a corporation, lean so far left! Most legitimate news organizations give both sides of any given subject, and let the listeners choose how They feel and who/what they support! Federal money (my tax dollars) should not fund a fully left leaning organization!

So sick of Judy and her bias reporting...last night giving Hillary a free window and add, never mentioning Bill, or her poor performance as Sect. I used to be able to watch each entire election debate on Newshour, but now the debates are exclusive to CNN, which isn't included in DISH. I search online to get the debate coverage that I think every US citizen should be able to watch for free. Isn't there some way that you could cover the debates so that those of us who don't get all the cable channels could familiarize ourselves w/the candidates? I think debates are important. I am not good w/the computer, but if you show the entire debate online, please let me know how to find it. Thanks.

My name is xx, and I live in Washington, DC. I was watching Judy Woodruff regarding her segment with Mr. Cucinnelli about immigration for children born of American parents outside of the country. I was shocked and offended for the content and her position on this, not letting Mr. Cucinnelli verify and explain this new legislation. I am this person that she defined as being helpless and unable to come to this country to participate, that would need handouts at every single corner. I was so disgusting because every point that he countered for her, she didn't want to hear. I was born in Canada. My parents were Americans working outside of the US. Never, at any time, did myself or my siblings expect handouts, welfare, be given this opportunity to come to this country and loathe. We were so honored to come to this country, participate in this economy, and pursue our goals and dreams. I am disgusted by Judy Woodruff. 

I just want to give you a big thank you for supporting PBS Kids. Coming from a mom with little education and from a country in South America. I have two little kids that are three and six. These are the TV shows that they watch every day and because of you guys, they can have access to these educational TV shows. I am a stay at home mom with an autoimmune condition. I do not work and I can not afford TV cable. They learn a lot from your programs, so I wanted to say a big thank you from our family.

I really enjoyed the information in this series about Ancient Egypt but the music so often is louder than the person speaking or the music continues with a loud rhythmic distracting beat making it hard to hear the person speaking and stay connected to the progression of thought expressed. It seems that the music is more important than the message. I tried for three chapters to continue viewing but finally grew frustrated and quit. I am disappointed because the travels and information is great. Tone down the music considerably.

GPB has always been thought of as a good source for education, however a lot of the show has gotten so political and of course no doubt GPB is very liberal. Why do you have to push so many interviews with people like Irene Monroe. I don't think its good to display a person with her views. There is so many good pastors in America but you have interview someone who tries to change the Bible to fit their lifestyle. Sick and tired of GPB's trying to shove these type of shows on our youth. I will never donate to this corrupt type of views.

A week ago I sat to watch an episode of Finding Your Roots -- which I had recorded a few days earlier on KPBS in San Diego. Instead I was watching the 1st half of an American Experience documentary on Woodstock. It was fascinating, but I only got to see the 1st half, since it was supposed to be a 1-hour show. I contacted the station to see when it would be re-broadcast, and they said it would not be! (And why didn't they show it this past week, which was the 50th anniversary of this legendary festival? They gave no answer.) This has happened dozens and dozens of times -- the Cox cable guide says one thing, but they show something else. We get 500 channels on our cable system, and 499 of them adhere to their schedule once they release it to the cable companies and the media. Why can't KPBS? It is so frustrating!!! I've complained to them via e-mail and phone calls many times, but they persist!

They said I should check their web-site, but this entails leaving the sofa, going to the back room, waiting three minutes while the computer boots up, Googling their web-site, navigating it to find the schedule, and then running back to the living room – hoping I won’t forget the programming information. Why can’t they just provide the cable company with an accurate schedule, and then stick to it?

Is this typical of PBS stations around the country, or is KPBS terribly mismanaged? We have supported them with our membership in the past, but now perhaps we will start sending our donations to the stations who generate such excellent programming. Can you help us?

I want to comment on Yamiche Alcindor, who I understand is the White House Reporter for the PBS Newshour. I think she is usually among the press corps questioning Trump. I think he stuck the “fake news” tag on her when she’s questioning him. What I would say is, I don’t think she has to go back and forth to say that he tells lies and that he is a liar. I think what she could do is say, “no sir, that is not true” when he says that she is fake news. I think that’s what the reporters should do when he says the reporters are “fake news” and just leave it at that. Instead of making any attacks on his veracity. If he’s attacking a reporter's character without warrant, then they have every right to yell that out.  

I just wanted to mention how very sad it is that people can’t get public broadcasting stations over the air unless they live certain areas. I have an excellent attenta and I can always get Fox but I can only get WTTW when you’re having a fundraiser event. Other than that, I don’t. As a taxpayer, although I’m working poor so I don’t pay a lot towards you, I think its really sad that there is no effort made to ensure that the working poor who need this type of television programming are considered. That’s my comment, very sad. I miss watching many, many programs, but I’m poor so you don’t care.  

Hi I’ve been PBS watcher and subscriber for over thirty years. Recently, We’ve noticed that our WAMC Albany has chosen to display a large, white, dense logo almost in the middle of the screen on all of the programs. It is so annoying and so districting that we have stopped watching. We’ve called them and we have written to them and they have not responded. We hoped that you might be able to express this to them. When did the logo of the station become more important than the programming? Other stations have a very small, very faint logo at the bottom of the screen. I was hoping that you would call.  

Hi my name is … I have a concern about the new premier of the cartoon Arthur that is going to view this fall. I’m concerned with same-sex marriage. I would certainly like to complain about that and urge you not to do that.  

Hi this is .. I am a mother and a grandmother, and I am absolutely appalled that the cartoon character Arthur is having a same-sex marriage on their programming for the premier this season. It is awful. I will not support public broadcasting if you are going to put this kind of stuff on. I am asking all of my friends with young children not to watch this show  

I love Boston channel WGBH but I cannot understand why for the past week and now into this week their pledge week marathon shows are the same films of old music groups that the channel has shown in years past over and over and over from decades ago e.g. the BeeGees, Peter Paul and Mary, The Highwaymen etc. etc. all once great in their time. Why the station owners, or whomever makes these decisions, think that these repeated and repeated again ancient programs will motivate the audience to make pledges is a great mystery. Please explain. By the way, I am 76 years old so loved these groups in their time!

Hello, I wanted to complain about the recent episode of Arthur where there was a same-sex marriage. I do not approve of that and I do not like tax dollars used to further that agenda. Same-sex marriage is wrong. 

Hello, I'm calling as a father of six to express my extreme disappointment that the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and PBS have decided to portray same-sex marriage in a children's television program. I have six children, as I said, and my wife and I live a traditional lifestyle, and we do not approve of the normalization of what we consider to be indecent conduct. Given the controversy that this generates, I think that CPB would be much much wiser not approving such an episode. 

I am calling regarding the demise of public radio station KHSU, located on the campus of Humbolt State University in Arcata, California. This has become a big surprise. It is a very important link between the university and the community. There has been a huge outcry from everyone in the community regarding the shrinking of this radio station and cutting out local programs and cutting out volunteers who have donated a tremendous amount of time over the past decade. This is a shock to everyone and we don't know how or why this happened and what can be done about it. If you could give me any of these answers that would be great. 707 845 0242

Hi, I'm calling today in regards to one of the rural radio stations in Northern California, KHSU. It's located at Humbolt State University. I know its in a category of educational stations, but its also been a community radio station for sixty years. KHSU today laid off most of their employees and are left with two employees, even the people that were paid by the university were laid off. The volunteers and their programs, of which I am a long-time volunteer, have been terminated as well. Somebody who was on air had to end in the middle of his program and its now a canned program that they apparently 

This has been a big blow to the community. 

I don't know if anyone has brought it to your attention.

The commentator consistently inserts a bias word into his question statement to the reporters. He asks: What is happening this week with the deplorable conditions and the failed Trump policies at the border. He should ask: What is happening with the conditions and policies at the border this week.

He should be replaced. I was a regular weekly viewer, but rarely watch anymore.

I wrote to ask about PASSPORT programs requiring additional membership fees to be accessible. If this is Public Television -PUBLIC MEANS PUBLIC -accessible to EVERYONE - not just to those paying additional membership fees. Since Public Television receives FEDERAL FUNDING - all programming should be available to everyone - So I have contacted my Congressional Representatives since no one from your group has responded to my previous email. As taxpayers we have already contributed to Public Television & should not be required to pay additional membership fees to access programs. In addition - 5 friends have contacted their Congressional Representatives in regard to this issue. Thank You.

Discussions regarding the results of the Mueller questioning of the Russian collusion report seemed to be focusing on moving forward with the impeachment process. Let's face it, Trump deserves to be impeached no more the H Clinton deserved to be penalized. Trump was voted in as the anti-establishment throwback guy who is highly involved in business. He has contacts around the world in high places. If smut lands on his desk, is he to ignore it? Let's move on as it's going nowhere and is sounding highly partisan/biased and the media are pushing the narrative.

David Gelles “Corner Office” column interview of Patricia Harrison told of her appreciation for Colin Powell’s way of working with people. I share her view of his leadership style, purposive teamwork. For me, the most important points in Gelles’ piece are the statements about what CPB does and for whom it is important. I live in Montana. Public media are essential to life here, and they are well supported. I am proud of my YPR t-shirt.

Gelles did not ask about marketing. He should have. I loved teaching marketing, researching markets not so much, so I think I see what it is that our public media are selling. Credibility. Every public radio station, every ETV channel, is hustling donations. Hucksters May entertain us but they do not engender trust. It creates jobs for marketing students, yes, but to what end? We do not have the commercial-free programming that Ms. Harrison mentioned.

CPB May protest my complaint that credibility is being sacrificed, that the advertising is essential to solvency, etc. I also listen to BBC and CBC. How do they do it, financially? Gelles failed to ask. How about a comparative documentary? I would watch / listen.

For the past two plus years I have listened to the PBS NewsHour slander the President of the United States with false allegations of collusion in violation of law with Russia and other alleged crimes, all of which have been proven false. The reporters have been relentlessly vicious in their programming and reporting. They have relied on a slew of lies fed to them by a coalition of Clinton Campaign, Obama Adminstration, British Intelligence, and C.I.A., F.B.I. and Justice Department official at the highest levels who have now been exposed in what appears to be an attempted coup against the President. They have not presented a fair or balanced report of the state of the nation night after night after night. PBS Newshour Directors and Employees have been active participants and accomplices in this slander. I respectfully request that all public funding be withdrawn from this station and its affiliates, an all of its Directors and employees dismissed.

Henry Louis gates is becoming increasingly bigoted in his reporting in this show. Also in his part in a civil war documentary. No other views are set forth. A disclaimer should be made that the show reflects only his bigoted or racially ethnic centric views. Thank you

I am a long-time financial supporter of PBS, and applaud your recent airings on the Newshour about how the public health sector is preparing for the next flu pandemic. As an evolutionary biologist and teacher for thirty years, I was really disappointed that PBS refrained from ever using the important word 'evolution' when trying to explain how the flu virus 'adapts'. Instead, the narrator explained that the viral strains were 'created' by 'mutating, growing, and spreading'. We were told that the virus often 'jumps' from birds to humans, without being told that to do that, some random mutations by chance permit the virus to overcome the challenges for the virus to grow in humans. PBS missed an excellent 'teachable moment' by not explaining that viral genes, are constantly randomly mutating when they reproduce. It's those random changes in their genetic make-up that enable them to evolve so quickly, permitting them to 'jump' from a bird host to a human one, when one or several mutations occur that permit them to overcome the challenges of adapting to a new host. While I was happy to see you use the words 'mutate', and 'adapt', you fell far short of educating the public on how this excellent example of rapid evolutionary change occurs. The more the press explains science the better. But I bet your reporters actually discussed how you could parse the narration so that you wouldn't offend any of your 'creationist' viewers. Shame on you for not being totally transparent that any flu pandemic results from the ability of viruses to rapidly evolve to new environments, which is the same thing that happens to produce antibiotic resistent bacteria. I have come to enjoy and expect excellence from PBS - please do better on your reporting of science! So much of the public depends on your excellent reporting to get it right.

Ms. Amanpour and her group consistently display profoundly partisan views without granting equal time to opposing views. The discussions are often boring because C.A. Asks leading questions, which really makes her biased perspectives transparent. The program ends up being free advertisement for political partisans usually with a book to promote who are sympathetic to views expressed by Ms. Amanpour. She never or rarely gives equal time to opposing viewpoints and often the "conservatives" she invites on her program have a middle of the road to negative view of the conservative views, such as Kasich. Amanpur's conservatives must have one trait, Hate Trump. I object to my tax dollars going to fund leftist propaganda, night after night. This same complaint goes to other PBS programs such as Open Mind and The PBS Newshour. Amanpour should be cancelled and Newshour should be reconstituted with new and different reporters and managing editor. Stop the nepotism already. (Des Jardin) And the far leftist Alcindor. Woodruff should be retired. Enough of the feminist anti male drum beat. Besides, they are increasingly boring and irrelevant news coverage. You can do better Much better. The exception is Firing Line, where you have a very fair minded Ms. Hoover and staff doing their homework and asking the tough questions.

Why isn't Amna Nawaz appearing anymore? She is very good but appears she's being pushed out when she's clearly one of the best you've ever had! What's going on in your corporation?

I watched this documentary. Overall, I would rate it 7 out of 10.

I was very disappointed with the very limited discussion about A. G. Gaston. He was more than what was presented in relation to Martin Luther King, Jr. The documentary should have spent more time on him and the diverse businesses he operated and spent less time on “hip hop.” Black Enterprise Magazine named A. G. Gaston the Black CEO of the Century. But the producers reduced his business acumen to his hotel & paying Martin Luther King Jr’s bail.

Please consider moving this excellent program to one hour .... a half hour does not do it justice....Costas does a primo job hosting...

It is my understanding that the amount of public donatis required by each PBS station, regardless of size, location or population served, is $800,000 annually. I live in a realitivley rural area in California and my local PBS station (KEET) my source for reliable news and programming that icludes eduction nad entertainment unattainable via other sources. My concern is that my local station is required to raise the same amount as much larger, urban areas that have many times the number of residents and potential donors. This somehow does not seem fair or equitable if the CPB is truly interested in serving all residents in our nation. My family and I have loved to watch the show "Arthur" on PBS, and read the books over and over again. They have been a sure source of laughter and learning for my children, and (I was hoping) my grandchildren. That is why I am so disappointed to see that the first show of the season features beloved Mr. Ratburn getting married to another MAN. I am saddened that PBS Kids would use their children’s network to promote same sex marriage. For you to use this beloved show to glorify the homosexual lifestyle and indoctrinate children is truly upsetting. By airing this subject matter in a children's show, you may think you are advancing a good cause, but really you have just stepped into my area of authority as a parent to bring up my child according to my religious faith and my conservative values. Since CPB is funded by ALL taxpayers, your viewpoint should reflect ALL values, or better yet stay NEUTRAL. CPB continues to veer away from family-friendly entertainment. I hope you will reconsider airing this show in the future, and consider ALL points of view as you develop story lines. Thank you.

I am a long time fan of PBS Children's programming but this season's "Arthur" has gone too far. Using children's programming to promote alternative lifestyles is manipulative and irresponsible on your part. For this reason I will no longer support PBS, CPB or any known affiliates with my finances, and will not purchase or support any merchandising or advertising efforts related to PBS. Your organization touts itself as educational and supportive of families. With education comes a certain responsiblity that this current agenda completely ignores. Are you kidding me? You have to inject this whole LGBT into kids cartoons? Heterosexual marriages are still mainstream, not LGBT. It's alternative lifestyle and does not need to be in cartoons. Kids will find out about it soon enough. Let them have a carefree childhood without these heavy topics. PBS has lost my support.

A recent episode of Arthur on PBS promoted a homosexual wedding of two men. I am 100% opposed to promoting homosexual behavior and normalizing it to children. My grandchildren will no longer be watching. Very poor decision by PBS to broadcast this and cpb to fund it.

Children programming is not the place for same sex marriage or sexual preferences. Children should be taught about beliefs and values from parents not TV programs that parents have believed were safe for children. I am adamantly opposed to the same sex marriage on the show Arthur. My grandchildren will not be watching it any more. They all love Arthur and were upset when I said we cannot watch Arthur. Same sex marriage is in direct opposition to the Bible and God's plan of sexuality. I don't want sexual preferences to be put in a program without previous warning so a lasting impression is made on kids.

Although I watch PBS and listen to NPR , and have for the last 50 years, BUT I can not be believe how liberal slanted your coverage is now, if it is not fake news, it is propaganda with the liberal take on every article or news report, it is a tool that does not deserve one red cent from the government or me personally, . One of the reasons why I support your programming is because you have an excellent program like Amy Goodman, which comes at the local primetime, not even primetime but you used to put her on at seven o’clock in the morning, and this morning, this is the last day of February, February 28th, you didn’t put her on. I don’t know what happened to her program, you had the Japanese program on instead of her program. And we had the house hearing on Cohen and Trump go on yesterday. And I’m sure Amy Goodman had lots of things to say about that testimony by Cohen. But the point is, you better not cancel her program, otherwise you will not get support from people like us. We think that Amy Goodman is one of the best programs right now. So please do not cancel, or maybe you can move her to the primetime. Anyway, I want to talk your programming department, but you don’t give out that number. So I’m just leaving a message now.

I’m an attorney; I probably have a group of ten or twelve of us who are all graduate school professionals who watch PBS NewsHour, not because we like it, but because we love to see what the other side is saying. When I say other side, what I mean is, the just blatant bias of Judy Woodruff, it is just disgusting. I know you like specific examples, and that’s why I’m calling right now. Tonight, January 29th, I just heard Judy Woodruff try to get Susan Collins, senator Susan Collins, four times to say that she would not support Donald Trump in 2020. She kept rewording the question and trying again. This is what she does; she corrals her guests into saying what she wants them to say. That is disgusting. So the reason I’m calling is, when you look at your ratings, your Nielsen ratings or whatever, never assume that people watch you because we follow you. We are all dropouts from both NPR and PBS, who love to watch it and then sit around and laugh over the weekend at the media bias. Thanks so much for listening.

Hi …, 555-555-5555, calling from the Boston, Massachusetts area, watching PBS NewsHour, enjoy the programming, talking about the Trump, the border wall, the government shutdown. If we could also add into our reporting, just to make it fair and balanced, every government shutdown has been precipitated by someone wanting something. One side holds up another person’s bill or legislation, and if the congressmen want to talk about temper tantrums, look all the way back to Jimmy Carter when the Congress held up, or shut the government down for eleven days for higher wages and leveraging some things with abortion rights. We had another shutdown for Obamacare. It’s the nature of politics; it’s just how politics happens. You put a bill on the floor, we hold it up until you can add some appropriations for us, and if you can add this or that for us into your package, we’ll vote for it, if not, we’re going to hold up your bill, your legislation. It’s the way politics are done; everybody leverages the other person to get what they want, and Trump isn’t the first person to do a shutdown, let’s be fair about how we color this, and what the effects are. I’d like to see that more of that on both sides of PBS. We’ll leave it at that, and I appreciate you letting me leave a comment. Thank you.

Hi this is … in Los Angeles. 555-555-5555. A couple of comments about your comments line, such. The public broadcasting stations are becoming more like Pacifica Foundations, which has KPFK, and so forth. They’re always selling merchandise. They’re as much a merchandising operation as they are a broadcast operation. It’s not good. And the public broadcasting stations in Los Angeles have not lived up to the promises that they made when they were organized 40-50 years ago. KCET, they answer Community Educational Television, has failed to do that. Also, it has, around fundraising time, endless doctors telling you how to live better, longer, healthier, all of that: diet, exercise, psychology, all kinds of stuff. It’s really embarrassing. The whole concept of giving grants to these people seems questionable to me when they’re not really serving the public interest the way they could. Admittedly, they’re better than commercial television, but not what they could be. They just have not lived up to the standards that we expect. We have a problem in this country with the educational system, and public broadcasting stations could ameliorate that problem, but they don’t. A great many of their programs are nothing but high-class soap operas. Anyway, if someone wants to talk to me more, that’s okay, I’d love to hear from you, if you’ve got other things to do, that’s okay too. I appreciate the work you’re doing, your intentions are great. I think sometimes you fall short, maybe it’s because you don’t have any other alternatives. Anyway, enough from me, goodbye, thanks again.

I am a public broadcasting service viewer. I’ve been watching your programs for four months now. I’m disgusted with you people. Put on some American news. We don’t give one crap about what’s going on in other countries. I want to know what’s going in my country. And I’m going to make sure you people, PBS, are off the system forever. Hi I’m watching one of the PBS NewsHour programs and they’re talking about the census. I’m just wondering if we can simplify process as an intelligent race of people who live in this country. Voting rights are for US citizens. If you are a citizen, you have the right to vote. If you are not a citizen, you do not have the right to vote. If you are filling out a census, you’re a citizen, you’re a resident. If you’re here on a visa or some other temporary form of residency… In an age where national security is so intense, don’t we have records of who is in this country, here on a visa, here on a student visa, here on a work visa, or here on asylum or some other immigration step or process? Our immigration bureaus should have all that information. All that information should be known and separate from what is included in the census and the census should be US citizens and those people who are 18 or older or 21 or older.. and who has the voting right is dependent on your age for a US citizen. That’s it. Once you turn 18 you have the right to vote. You’re a US citizen, you have the right to vote. If you’re not a US citizen, you do not have the right to vote. If you’re an illegal immigrant or you’re here illegally under any category, you’re not going to fill out a census and tell people oh by the way I’m here illegal. Illegal anything is still a crime. You’re not going to admit that on a census. I’m here illegally and by the way I live at this address when I’m sleeping on a mattress down in someone’s basement. I’m not sure where the dialogue is going with this but we’ve seem to lost our minds about how we all have complicated this in this country. Anything you can do to uh feedback would be really appreciate.. anything you can do get a different dialogue going on something that comes back to making sense.

Hi, I am just calling to tell you that I really am doing some of the exercise programs that are included in the Milwaukee area for the channel that is public TV. I really like Sit and Be Fit, Classical Stretch, and Body Electric and I am hoping that you will continue to support those.

My family has been fans of the PBS New Hour for decades. No longer. What was an hour of thoughtful news analysis has devolved into a variety show. The news now takes up about a half of the hour. The remainder is devoted to infotainment in the form of cultural and human interest subjects. We routinely turn it off when the news part finishes. We would argue that a minority of viewers find the cultural and human interest segment appealing. Has PBS done any polling of its viewers on this? The other argument for sticking to what the news hour does best is the desperate need in these politically fraught times for dispassionate evidence based discussions of policies. Surely you cannot argue that the cultural/human interest part is more important. Please reconsider your format before you lose your audience.

Hello, I am writing in regards to Scott Simon's discussion with Susan Davis. The title of the article is "Democrats Face Internal Tensions".

Mr. Simon's words were: "While there is a lot in the Green New Deal that they can make fun of or make issues of when there was talks about getting rid of air travel or things like that...". There is an obvious bias here and because of his position, his voice is influential at a time when our environment is in crisis. This has bothered me strongly enough that I have written to President Trump to suggest that federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting should be discontinued.

I strongly request that this statement be revisited and corrected publicly.

Hi. I love the newshour and your excellent hosts. I have a simple request: would you be able to have Yamiche Alsindor (sp?) slow down her speaking and attempt to enunciate more. She's very good and smart but I miss some of what she says, and I don't wear hearing aids! But is afraid to actually hear what is being told to them! and then analyses what they were told without getting side tracked by the words they were utilizing to express their thoughts! Only because the Truth requires a real effort to choose to change ….. “ So, is it just me?!? or do other independent-Thinking individuals also believe that ‘Power Truly corrupts’!! and the major decision makers in the media, in this day and age! are still behaving like a spoiled, intolerant, racists, Two-year old troglodyte, as they still willfully discriminate against the Over 200 known Superhero’s of color! When green-lighting movies, TV shows/series, actresses/actors, writers, directors, and/or producers! Who support the full inclusion of equal diversity in both Primary/Lead human characters, and Secondary/Side-kick cast members! Where at least both of these groups have 50% human people of color! Instead of this hostile, implicit-biased, absolute, reliance by these white major decision makers, or unimaginative white writers, directors, and producers, that easily green-light productions for the overwhelmingly abundant and totally Generic screen plays/scripts, of generally new and unknown white actor! That in reality could have equally been played by a just as qualified and talented minority and a person of color; in shows like FAM; FBI; Quantico; Blue Bloods; Chicago PD; Taken; Madam Secretary; The Division; Private Eyes; The Resident; etc., just to name a few Generic shows. So where are our unique voices and perspectives .

So Why do they always need to be blue-eyed and blond?!? or for example, with the PBS News Hour, Why do all the so-called ‘Experts’ on any subject need to be White-looking?!? Where are the Equally relevant voices and perspectives of Respected Journalists like, Mrs. Audie Corins, or Mrs. Zerlina Maxwell, to expand the daily PBS News Hour panel to TRULY Include Mrs. Judy Woodworth, Truly Sharing the spotlight!! with an African American, a Dark-skinned Hispanic, an Asian, and someone from the Muslim community!! to offer their Equally Qualified unique Life-experiences Perspective!!! on the News of the Day !! or on the Regular weekly PBS News Hour Political-panel of an African American, a Dark-skinned Hispanic, an Asian, someone from the Muslim community, and a White individual !! to dissect the current Political news and how it Daily AFFECTS our Diverse communities!!!

Why do the major decision makers, always need to be so disrespectful and rely on the ancient and truly outdated 7 to one formula of casting with one bleached token character of color! and basically whitewashing actors to be so white-looking!! In our reality of financially successful Diverse projects such as Black Panther, and Crazy Rich Asians?!? Why does there still need to be this weak-minded, mentally-challenged, behavior of a totally insecure white monopoly?!? I want to make a complaint about NPR receiving Federal money. NPR is blatantly leftist and anti-trump. They constantly bash the President of the United States. During the Presidential oval office address on 1/8/2019 they prior to him speaking were already bashing what he might say, then during the President speaking they played other audio covering up what he said, and after the speech they again bashed the President for his lies! I would not be so concerned about their extreme leftist programming except for the fact that my tax dollars are going to promote their propaganda machine. Here is a list of what I have listened to them report on in the last month:

We are interested in showing one of the films that your represent (Black Panthers: Vanguard of the Revolution’) to our group in honor of Black History Month. Would it be possible to get your permission for this?

Our group would have a maximum of 20 students at the showing.

When interviewing congressmen from both sides of the aisle, the following point should be made. You are the only ones with the power to solve the immigration problem yet you continue to collect your compensation when no progress is being made. TSA and other federal employees are denied their salaries even though they have no power to solve the current problem. It would make more sense to penalize congress who is not doing their job.

I am a middle to left leaning professor of social science. In former years I enjoyed and supported public broadcasting, tuning to it almost exclusively wherever I was.

Those days are now over.

While I would like to enjoy mature, thoughtful broadcast journalism that is free from commercial control, the heavy-handed material being produced by today's CPB has become unendurable.

Even the most cursory sampling of current CPB broadcasting unmistakably demonstrates an unrelenting, ideologically-driven campaign of anti-religious, anti-rightwing sociopolitical diatribe bathed alternately in contrived outrage, strategic suspicion, character defamation and arrogant "good ol' boy" self-congratulation.

Such deeply biased "journalism" not only is offensive to reason, it's destructive to our social fabric, distortive to today's much needed social dialog and frankly, embarrassing to those of us who have in former times espoused support for public broadcasting as a balancing social agent.

Please stop portraying Brooks and Shields as the “point-counterpoint” highlight of the News Hour. Nothing could be further from the truth.

We all know that both of these men are liberal to the core and it is simply insulting to suggest otherwise.

As long as David Brook’s paychecks are written from the account of The New York Times, Brooks will remain on the safe side and tailor his comments to align with those of his employer, the most liberal newspaper in the USA. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out this calculus.

Mark Shields fairly bubbles over with anti-conservative venom to the point that he is often reduced to babbling incoherently. I feel downright sorry for the old guy when he goes into his aba-daba mode of expressing his untethered, vitriolic hatred of Donald Trump.

If you really care about presenting opposing arguments and analysis of the news, at least replace Brooks with a well spoken and knowledgeable Conservative such as Newt Gingrich.

Until you do that, this segment of the News Hour will remain a sham.

Please do not respond with a comment about how popular the Brooks-Shields segment is with viewers. It is no secret that the majority of viewers are likely to be left leaning and enjoy hearing their own views confirmed!

I have been looking for this either on VHS or DVD and I cannot find it! I Loved this Documentary and I still love it! I tried calling PBS for it and learned it was sold to someone. What a shame because it was a part of a Frontline Documentary series! I feel it should be found and maybe more copies could be made of it! This program airs on WNE-TV on Saturday and Sunday at 6:00 am on WNYE-TV in New York City. I bookmark it because it is effective. For some reason it does not appear on the Spectrum schedule after January 5 and I was unable to bookmark it for January 6. This is unacceptable. I have been a VERY LONG TERM SUPPORTER of KPBS. I am neither a Republican nor a Democrat, and as an Independent, I have always enjoyed KPBS and NPR news stories as well as educational coverage.

However, since Trump has taken office, KPBS has fully abandoned it very mission to provide NON POLITICALLY motivated news to the community. I am VERY OFFENDED by KPBS's recent decision to fully tilt EVERY SINGLE NEWS STORY towards being Trumps fault. I did not vote for Trump, I do not support his ideas, but it is ABSOLUTELY statistically improbable to have EVERY SINGLE NEWS STORY be Trumps fault. This has ABSOLUTELY DESTROYED my belief in KPBS as an important news outlet, one which I have financially supported and which I have touted to friends as being very important for our community.

The RELENTLESS attacks against the Trump administration and Republicans is OFFENSIVE. I now doubt EVERY SINGLE NEWS STORY which comes from KPBS because it is %100 clear that KPBS has absolutely decided to push the Democratic Political Agenda. This has POISONED KPBS's WELL and by default, KPBS's credability!!!

IT is %100 clear KPBS is poisoned because of the repeated twisting of words, use of comments out of context, constant insinuations, devious introduction of feeling based commentary, and flat out FALSE quotes/lies which are presented to the public repeatedly through out every single day. The news that comes through the radio is very important to the community, but when KPBS decides to specifically push Democratic Political Agenda, it destroy's KPBS's reputation of being impartial and provides Trump validation for his efforts in cutting off your funding.

Why can't KPBS take the high road as it has done so many times in the past? Instead KPBS has taken the Republican's bait and fully jumped off the cliff. KPBS has a FUNDAMENTAL RESPONSIBILITY to remain impartial, by ignoring that responsibility, KPBS has become FULLY IRRESPONSIBLE. The term "FAKE NEWS" is being legitimized one tilted story at a time. Trumps claim that media is unfair is being validated because of KPBS's childish response to his claims. KPBS is fueling the fire between Democrats and Republicans by choosing a side, and is just as responsible for politically motivated attacks/terrorism as Trumps "rhetoric". How does KPBS not realize their news stories are "rhetoric" also?

Knock it off, people are not that stupid and they hear the political junk which KPBS is pushing to San Diego. Take the high road and stop wallowing in the mud with a pig like Trump. You are systematically proving him correct by allowing democrats to run the show.

Yur program was a masterful hatchet job, the best I have seen in my 87 years. and it came just weeks before the election.

As a taxpayer I will write to my Congressman and all the people I know objecting to give pulic funds to a partisan business like  the CPB and its affiliates to produce and dissemnate biased program, attacking the elected president.
