Command Master Chief, NAWS China Lake

Master Chief Huckaba, a native of St. Louis, MO. enlisted in the Navy in April of 1985. He has attended the following courses of instruction: Basic Training in Great Lakes, Ill; Basic Enlisted Submarine School Groton, CT; Instructor Training School. Kings Bay, GA; Senior Enlisted Academy and Chief of the Boat/Command Master Chief Capstone Course, Newport, RI.

He reported as Command Master Chief to Naval Air Warfare Center Weapons Division, China Lake California in October 2014 and was previously the Command Master Chief for Naval Submarine Base, Kings bay Georgia. Previous sea duty assignments: USS Henry Clay (SSBN 625)(Blue), USS Holland (AS-32), USS Louisiana (SSBN 743)(Blue), USS San Juan (SSN 751) two tours, USS Springfield (SSN 761) as Chief of the Boat, and most recently USS Florida (SSGN 728) (GOLD) as Chief of the Boat. He has completed 6 overseas deployments and 5 strategic deterrent patrols.

Master Chief Huckaba is qualified in submarines and is authorized to wear the Enlisted Submarine insignia. He is also designated a Master Training Specialist.

He has been awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (three awards);Navy-Marine Corps Commendation Medal (five awards); Navy-Marine Corps Achievement Medal(nine awards); Meritorious Unit Commendation; Battle "E" efficiency (2 awards); Navy Good Conduct Medal (nine awards); National Defense Service Medal(2 awards); Global War on Terror Medal; Humanitarian Service Medal; Meritorious Outstanding Volunteer Service Medal; Sea Service Ribbon (3 awards); Recruiting ribbon; and Expert Pistol Medal.
