Mission
Navy Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Pacific and its component commands (Hawaii, Marianas, and Far East) strengthen Navy and Marine Corps combat readiness for customer commands throughout the U.S. Commander Pacific Fleet area of responsibility through effective facilities lifecycle support focused on the Fleet, Fighter, and Family.
We develop and deploy strategic energy and water conservation initiatives, including renewable energy and energy security projects, to secure a sustainable energy future that assures our national defense mission and supports State and community strategic clean energy initiatives.
Area of Responsibility
Navy Region Hawaii is comprised of several bases on the island of Oahu and the Pacific Missile Range Facility on the island of Kauai. The command has responsibility for 2,695 shore facilities, 19.5 million square feet of property, 50,000 personnel, and a $203 million annual utilities budget.
Strategic Energy Initiatives & Partnerships
Navy Region Hawaii is involved in several critical energy strategic partnerships that reach across federal and
state boundaries and provide tangible benefits to the surrounding communities. A few examples of partnerships include U.S. Pacific Command’s Energy Partnership and Strategic Council, the Hawaii Clean Energy Initiative, Hawaii State Green House Gas Task Force, Office of Naval Research Energy Program Investment in Hawaii, the Department of Defense-Hawaiian Electric Company Executive Committee, Rebuild Hawaii, and Public-Private Venture housing partnership.
