Mission Statement

Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Korea provides U.S. Naval leadership and expertise to Joint/Combined Forces on the Republic of Korea and assists U.S. Forces Korea, U.S. Seventh Fleet, and Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN) with plans, policies and training.

SAILING DIRECTIONS

We are selflessly serving during a critical period for the U.S – Republic of Korea (ROK) alliance. These “Sailing Directions” offer guidance with which to govern our actions.

Our priority is to be ready to “fight tonight”… we can never lose sight of that. Think “people first” and we will always be ready.

Building and sustaining personal relationships and partnerships with ROK, Combined, Joint and US forces is why we serve in the Republic of Korea. Think about this every day.

My commitment to you is life-long. I want you to be successful at CNFK and beyond. I will do everything I can to make your tour at CNFK the most extraordinary experience of your life.

Our families matter – their inclusion in our planning and activities is a command priority.

I value positive leadership, high energy, innovation, creativity, hard work, precision execution, and results.

CNFK is the model for how to “Do it Right!”

We cultivate a sense of purpose, and we recognize achievement. We work toward specific goals – personal, professional, and financial. We pursue those goals with a passion, and we passionately help others pursue their goals.

We are pro-active. We thrive on challenge, we learn from our mistakes, and we actively seek staff input and constructive feedback as a means to constant improvement.

We are inclusive. We treat ALL people with dignity, courtesy, and respect. We do not tolerate harassment, hazing, or sexual assault. We treasure diversity of all forms – it is a cornerstone of what makes our Navy great.

We work to a plan and “routinely do the routine.”

We embrace a culture of physical fitness.

Truth and integrity are paramount. Our accountability is without question.

We have the moral courage to do “what’s right.”

We are role models and noble citizens – we respect civil authority… we find ways to add value to our community here in Korea.

I believe in you. I trust you. I want you to succeed, and I will do EVERYTHING I can to nurture that success as part of a winning team in Korea. The American and Korean people, your families, your friends, and your shipmates need you! MAKE THEM PROUD and DO GREAT THINGS!
