Dr. Karen Guldberg, a professor at the University of Birmingham (UK) Autism Centre for Education and Research, reported on using knee-high robots that move like children while teaching 5- to 10-year-olds with ASD. Robots model behaviors to teach phonics and how to play cards, memory, and imitation games, helping children become motivated and engaged with learning.
