About Attendance Awareness Campaign

Celebrated for the first time in September 2013, the Attendance Awareness Campaign is a nationwide recognition of the connection between school attendance and academic achievement. The goal is to mobilize schools and communities  to promote the value of good attendance and to take concrete steps toward reducing chronic absence. Today 97 national organizations are working in partnership, and the list is growing. In 2019, we invited state-level organizations and agencies to join the Campaign.
