Vice President Mike Pence saw a demonstration of canine search procedures by U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officer Robert Unitis and his dog "Zombie," 7, as he visited CBP operations at Dundalk Marine Terminal within the Port of Baltimore Friday.Vice President Pence expressed his appreciation for the work done by all members of CBP, from coast to coast, north to south.“It is a great, great honor to be here with all of you today to say a very simple thank you,” he said. “Thank you for your service. Thank you for all you do every day to ensure the flow of commerce and ensure the safety and security of the American people.”The Vice President also took time to remember Border Patrol Agent Donna Doss, killed while assisting a Texas state trooper just west of Abilene, Texas, Feb. 2.“The tragic accident that claimed her life on duty is a reminder that all of you who serve, all of you who wear the uniform of Customs and Border Protection, do so in no small way that reflects that you’ve put our lives ahead of your own. And so we remember her and we remember her family today,” he said. Photo by Glenn Fawcett
