The mission of Playa Lakes Joint Venture (PLJV) is to conserve the playas, prairies and landscapes of the western Great Plains — including portions of Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma and Texas — through partnerships for the benefit of birds, other wildlife, and people. The partnership works to restore playas to support the sustainability of the Ogallala Aquifer and the communities, agricultural producers and wildlife that depend on its water; restore wetland and grassland habitat to increase waterfowl and game bird populations that support hunting, birding and other recreational activities; and make our wildlife goals consistent with societal goals of clean and abundant water. We are vested in helping to make sure producers, local communities, birds and other wildlife all prosper and thrive in this landscape. Read More >>
