Urban Bird Treaty Grant Information
A program that supports city partners in conserving birds and their habitats and providing opportunities for citizen engagement in bird-related recreation, education, and conservation activities in urban and suburban areas.
U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service Urban Program Grant Availability
Through the Five Star & Urban Waters Restoration Program, the USFWS Migratory Bird Program was able to accept proposals for projects related to the Urban Bird Treaty program.
Approximately $180,000 is available to fund projects that engage urban citizens in bird conservation and foster a sense of stewardship. Priority areas include locations where there are existing Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnerships or established Urban Bird Treaty Cities with the Fish and Wildlife Service. Proposals should articulate tangible ways the Fish and Wildlife Service can become an asset to the community.
Urban Bird Treaty project proposals should have an emphasis on enhancing urban habitats for birds, engaging citizens in bird conservation, and connecting diverse and youth audiences to birds and bird conservation.
