UIHI’s Native Generations Campaign Featured in the Media

The UIHI’s Native Generations Campaign was recently featured in two prominent national media sources. Indian Country Today interviewed Shira Rutman, the Native Generations Project Coordinator, and published an article titled, “’Native Generations’ Campaign Connects Urban Indians with Infant Care, Native Support.” in their January 21, 2013 edition. The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation New Public Health blog posted an article on February 11, 2013 about the campaign titled “New Video Aims to Reduce Infant Mortality in the Native American Community.” Both highlight the video and how it encourages urban American Indians and Alaska Natives to connect with Urban Indian Health Organizations and other culturally relevant community organizations to help reduce the risk of infant mortality. Native Peoples Magazine also interviewed the UIHI about the campaign and will be publishing an article in the March/April issue of the magazine.

Visit the Native Generations webpage to access the video resources and learn more information about the campaign.
