HSI’s Domestic Operations Division oversees HSI’s domestic field offices. It ensures that the field follows guidelines governing federal investigations. This includes evaluating field offices and ensuring they communicate significant activity to HSI headquarters.
The division also oversees HSI’s major enforcement initiatives and provides subject-matter experts for senior leadership regarding ongoing investigations.
Domestic Operations serves an important additional role as the advocate for field offices. This allows the division’s operation managers to relay concerns and input from the field to HSI leadership.
The division also ensures that the needs of the field are considered during policy reviews and when resolving communication issues with headquarters. Communication with the field allows HSI to identify trends that can lead to the creation of new initiatives.
