Welcome to Our Office!

Our Great State of Michigan has many wonderful attributes – from the beautiful Great Lakes and inland waterways, to safe cities and towns of all sizes, to world-class cultural and educational institutions, to a diverse economy and population.  But these positive attributes are too often undermined by criminals – especially violent criminals who destroy the safety and security that is the basis for a healthy and vibrant community.

My top priority as the United States Attorney for the Eastern District of Michigan is to protect the people in our communities by faithfully enforcing federal law.  Whether it’s fighting violent street gangs, preventing opioid overdose deaths, stopping terrorist attacks, prosecuting corrupt public officials, or combatting illegal immigration, this Office is fully committed to the prosecution and enforcement of federal law in a way that protects the citizens of our District.  And we are committed to doing so in a manner that is fair, impartial, and as transparent as possible.

The information you will find on our website is part of that commitment.  Here, you will find information about the cases our office has prosecuted and the programs and initiatives that we will continue to pursue.  We hope our website not only informs our fellow citizens about the important work of our office, but serves as a benchmark from which we can strive to improve on our work in the future – a future that is safer and more secure for all people in Michigan.
