Sutherland Joins OPP as Program Director for Oceans and Atmospheric Sciences

Dr. Dave Sutherland has joined OPP's Antarctic Sciences section as the new Program Director for Oceans and Atmospheric Sciences. A large part of his research over the past decade has been examining ice-ocean interactions near with marine-terminating glaciers, including systems in Greenland, southeast Alaska, and the western Antarctic Peninsula.

Dr. Michael Jackson to Serve as Acting Head of Antarctic Sciences

Michael E. Jackson, currently the Program Director for the Earth Science in OPP’s Antarctic Sciences Section, will assume the duties of Acting Section Head Antarctic Sciences Section starting November 22, 2020. He will replace Dr. Alex Isern who has been appointed the Deputy Assistant Director for the Directorate for Geosciences.
