We're proud to announce Dr. Nicole Ivy as the Alliance's new director of inclusion. In this newly created position within the executive office, Dr. Ivy will lead the Alliance’s strategic initiatives around diversity, equity, accessibility and inclusion. Through her research, advisory, and training roles, she will continue to be a tremendous resource for museums.
In response to the January 27 executive order temporarily banning travel from seven Muslim-majority countries, Alliance President and CEO Laura Lott issued a statement reaffirming AAM and the museum field’s commitment to active participation in the global community, embracing a diversity of people and cultures to enhance our understanding of the world, and highlighting the stories of immigrants and their valuable contributions to American culture.
