Delaware Joins State-to-State; Alaska to Follow
AAMVA congratulates Delaware on successfully implementing the State-to-State Verification Service (S2S) during the weekend of December 18, 2016, becoming the 12th participant using the new service. Delaware will now be able to use SPEXS to perform its CDLIS and S2S functions, and can now track pointer information related to its Base Driver Licenses, Permit for Base Driver Licenses, and Identification Cards. This supports, among other goals, limiting any person to only one driver's license. All migration activities have completed as per schedule. CDLIS and S2S services are fully operational now. Following Delaware, Alaska is the next state poised to benefit from the S2S functionality, and is scheduled to become a S2S state over the weekend of January 28. More details are available here.
Region IV Board Meets
The Region IV Board met last week in Seattle to commence planning of the 2017 Region IV Conference. The Board reviewed the 2016 conference program, activities, and financials. Attendance in Portland was the second highest in Regional conference history. They also began planning efforts for the 2017 Regional in Seattle. Conference dates are May 21-24. By-law changes were discussed and the Board of Director's Guide was reviewed and revised. The Board voted to once again provide travel grant funding for Region IV members to attend both the Workshop and Law Institute and the Regional Conference.
CSTIMS Participation Update
AAMVA congratulates Texas on becoming the thirty-eighth jurisdiction using the Commercial Skills Test Information Management System (CSTIMS). Texas will now be able to use CSTIMS to track the scheduling and entry of test results for commercial skills tests by jurisdiction and third-party examiners and to look-up Out-of-State test results. Visit the CSTIMS Web page for more information.
