WELCOME
On behalf of the Organizing Committee, we would like to announce that the 12th International Particle Accelerator Conference – IPAC’21 (Americas) will be held in virtual format from May 24-28, 2021.
IPAC’21, is being organised by the Brazilian Center for Research in Energy and Materials (CNPEM), located in Campinas, Brazil, and it is the first time IPAC in the Americas comes to South-America.
The conference was planned to be held at the Brazilian city of Iguassu Falls but, unfortunately, due to the present situation of covid-19 pandemic in the globe, with no vaccines available yet and many countries heading into a new outbreak phase, we had no option but to decide for a virtual edition.
Brazil started to develop accelerator technology almost 40 years ago by starting the construction of the first synchrotron light source facility in the Southern Hemisphere. Today, an experienced staff is bringing the new state-of-art light source Sirius into operation.
IPAC is the main international event to discuss the latest achievements in the science and technology of Particle Accelerators, promoting collaboration among scientists, engineers, technicians, students and industrial partners across the globe. This is a most exciting time in the field, with many new projects and challenges leading to innovation into the near future.
We are looking forward to a most lively conference and hope to meet you virtually at IPAC’21!
