DEA Issues Carfentanil Warning to Police and Public

DEA has issued a public warning to the public and law enforcement nationwide about the health and safety risks of carfentanil. Carfentanil is a synthetic opioid that is 10,000 times more potent than morphine and 100 times more potent than fentanyl, which itself is 50 times more potent than heroin. The Senate has passed a landmark bill to address the current opioid drug epidemic. The House of Representatives also passed the Comprehensive Addiction and Recovery Act (CARA) last week. Now the bill will go to President Obama for his signature, The New York Times reports.
