Region 1

FEMA Region 1 oversees federal emergency management for Tribal Nations of New England and the following states:

Our main office is located in downtown Boston; we also have a Regional Response Coordination Center located twenty miles west of Boston in Maynard, Massachusetts.

Appointed in June 2019. Captain Webster previously served for eight years in Region 1 as New England’s first Federal Preparedness Coordinator (FPC) between 2008 to 2015. Before FEMA, Captain Webster served as the Deputy Federal Security Director for TSA Boston.

He joined FEMA in 1992, first as a Natural Hazards Program Specialist in the Mitigation Division. Since then he’s served in a number of roles at FEMA including the Flood Insurance Program Regional Insurance Liaison and Regional Emergency Analyst.
