Libraries Report to Contributors 2007-2008

Scholars and students are more connected globally and technologically than ever before.

The Libraries' collections and services -- physical and virtual -- provide outstanding support for internationally recognized research in more than 80 doctoral programs while also addressing the learning needs of more than 30,000 undergraduate students across three campuses.

We must deliver accurate, comprehensive information 24 hours a day to students, faculty, scholars and members of the community.

Your support provides our faculty and students the means to investigate, discover, and share their findings with the larger community.

Your gift to the Libraries can support student employee scholarships, student research awards, technology and digital initiatives, collections of rare and fragile materials, processing of archival papers, an endowed librarian postion -- the list goes on.

You can make a gift in honor of, or in memory of, a loved one or a friend.

Whatever your interest, we welcome your inquiry on how your gift can support the minds and the research that make a vital contribution to our region, and to the world.

We encourage you to attend our public events and exhibits throughout the year.

The Mission of the University Libraries is to enrich the quality of life and advance intellectual discovery by connecting people with knowledge.

As the intellectual and physical commons of our University, we advance discovery and encourage the growth of knowledge.

We prepare students for success in life as information-smart global citizens.

We must continue to innovate and look for new opportunities to improve our resources and services.

Your generosity helps to preserve the tradition of academic inquiry that is an essential element in the creation of new knowledge.
