FOIA
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), which was enacted in 1966, gives any person the right to request access to federal agency records or information. All agencies of the United States government are required to disclose records upon receiving a written request for them, except for those records that are protected from disclosure by the FOIA.
While LSC is not an agency of the U.S. government, it is subject to the FOIA, and must release records to requesters unless the records are protected from disclosure by the FOIA.
If you wish to make a request of LSC under FOIA, your request must be in writing. Both the request and the envelope (if applicable) should be clearly marked "Freedom of Information Act Request."
The request may be submitted in one of four ways:
