To provide support for the career development of clinically trained professionals who have made a commitment to patient-oriented research, and who have the potential to develop into productive, clinical investigators.

Specific Institutional Eligibility

SC1*

Support for individual investigator-initiated research projects aimed at developing researchers to a stage where they can transition successfully to other extramural support (R01 or equivalent).

SC2*

Support for individual investigator-initiated pilot research projects to generate preliminary data for a more ambitious research project.

SC3*

Support for individual investigator-initiated research projects aimed at developing researchers to a stage where they can transition successfully to other extramural support (R01 or equivalent).

SUP

NINDS Research Progress Grant Continuity supplements are intended to help provide additional funds to ensure continued research progress for first-time recipients of NINDS Research Project Grant (R equivalent) awards whose research program is impacted by a critical life event.
