Bangladesh

Through an IDA project, 96,000 diploma-level students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds received stipends to access vocational trainings for improved employability.

Tanzania

Through an IDA-supported project, 576,000 people gained access to electricity. The project’s off-grid component stimulated private sector-led development in renewable energy and created one of the strongest environments for small power producers in Africa.

East Africa

A regional network of upgraded laboratories across East Africa has resulted in a steep rise in laboratory-confirmation of pathogens (from 8 to 88%) and a new mobile phone disease outbreak reporting system.
