CTD² Publication Guidelines

The Cancer Target Discovery and Development (CTD2) Network is a “community resource project” supported by the National Cancer Institute’s Office of Cancer Genomics. Members of the Network release data to the broader research community by depositing data into NCI-supported or public databases. Data deposition is NOT equivalent to publishing in a peer-reviewed journal. Unless there is a manuscript associated with a dataset, the Network considers data to be formally unpublished. Therefore, standard scientific etiquette and practices should be used when: (1) working with data produced by the Network, and/or (2) publishing results generated using Network data.

CTD2 requests authors who use Network data acknowledge CTD2 as follows: “The results published here are fully or partially based upon data generated by the Cancer Target Discovery and Development (CTD2) Network (https://ocg.cancer.gov/programs/ctd2/data-portal) established by the National Cancer Institute’s Office of Cancer Genomics.”

If the data being used corresponds to a manuscript(s) published by the CTD2 Center, CTD2 requests that authors properly reference the original research paper(s) associated with the project.

The Network also requests that researchers who use the CTD2 Dashboard as a resource for their studies to acknowledge and cite the manuscript Aksoy, Dančík, Smith et al., Database 2017;1-10 and provide the URL https://ctd2-dashboard.nci.nih.gov/dashboard/.
