Program Areas

IAP works with states across four program areas that address the technical support gaps identified by states and other stakeholders: substance use disorders, Medicaid beneficiaries with complex care needs and high costs, community integration through long-term services and supports; and physical and mental health integration.

Reducing Substance Use Disorders (SUD)

As part of a strategy to improve the care and outcomes for individuals with a SUD, IAP invites states to leverage IAP resources to introduce system reforms that better identify individuals with a SUD, expand coverage for effective SUD treatment, and enhance SUD practices delivered to beneficiaries. Learn more about IAP’s SUD program area and explore related materials and resources.

Improving Care for Medicaid Beneficiaries with Complex Care Needs and High Costs (BCN)

As part of the BCN work, IAP provides state Medicaid programs with support and resources to design, plan and implement strategies to improve care coordination for Medicaid BCN populations. Learn more about IAP's BCN program area and explore related materials and resources.

Promoting Community Integration through Long-Term Services and Supports (CI-LTSS)

Through this program area, IAP offers technical support on housing-related services and partnerships, and incentivizing quality and outcomes in community-based LTSS. Learn more about IAP’s CI-LTSS program area and explore related materials and resources.

Supporting Physical and Mental Health Integration (PMH)

IAP provides states with technical support to improve or expand already established integration approaches through this program area. Learn more about IAP’s PMH Integration program area and explore related materials and resources.
