AmeriCorps NCCC is committed to strengthen communities and develop leaders through team based national and community service by assisting community and faith-based based organizations, national nonprofits, schools, local municipalities, national and state parks, and Indian tribes. Sponsoring organizations request NCCC projects that span five issue areas including: Natural and Other Disasters, Infrastructure Improvement, Environmental Stewardship, Energy Conservation, and Urban and Rural Development. FEMA Corps Deployment Report
FEMA Corps is a collaboration between CNCS and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Members from within AmeriCorps NCCC are solely devoted to disaster preparedness, response and recovery. Teams engage in a variety of disaster service including helping survivors complete applications for disaster assistance, supporting disaster services facilities, responding to helpline calls and disseminating disaster preparedness and mitigation information to the public. FEMA Corps training and experience prepares members for careers in emergency management and related fields while positively impacting the lives of disaster victims. The report below lists the projects where FEMA Corps teams are currently serving.
