Working with Federal and State Partners

OIG has the authority to exclude individuals and entities from Federally funded health care programs for a variety of reasons, including a conviction for Medicare or Medicaid fraud. Those that are excluded can receive no payment from Federal healthcare programs for any items or services they furnish, order, or prescribe.

Our Federal and State partners can use the below online reporting services to submit the necessary documentation on individuals or entities who should be considered for exclusion.

Medicaid Fraud Control Units

Submit Convictions for Exclusion is a digital service to assist Medicaid Fraud Control Units (MFCU) in the reporting of conviction information about individuals or entities to OIG for purposes of program exclusion under section 1128 of the Social Security Act. MFCU performance standards outline that MFCUs should, on a timely basis, transmit to OIG all pertinent information on MFCU convictions.
