Appointed in November 2013. Prior to accepting his FEMA appointment, he was a member of Illinois Governor Bruce Rauner’s cabinet to which the governor appointed him to serve both as Director of the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) and as Deputy State Homeland Security Advisor.
