Federal Government Archived Operating Status in the Washington, DC, Area

the following message applies only to Monday, April 17, 2000

At the recommendation of federal and local law enforcement officials, the United States Office of Personnel Management announces the operating status for federal employees on Monday April 17, 2000.

  1. Within the area of 12th street NW, 23rd st NW, Constitution Avenue and K street, only emergency employees should report to work.
  2. Other Federal offices located in the District of Columbia will operate under an UNSCHEDULED LEAVE policy.
  3. Federal offices in Virginia and Maryland will be operating as usual.
