Office of the General Counsel

700772120

The Honorable Orrin G. HatchUnited States Senator
1006 Federal Building 324 25th Street
Ogden, UT 84401

Attention: Norma Holmgren

Dear Senator Hatch:

We refer to correspondence dated June 23, 1997, from your constituent [XXX] of [city, state]. [XXX] has requested your assistance in having leave restored which she accumulated prior to her transfer on August 26, 1984, from the [agency #1] to the [agency #2] in [city, state]. Unfortunately, [XXX] waited more than six years before presenting her claim. As a consequence, [XXX] claim is barred. We have enclosed a copy of our decision.

However, as noted in our decision, the Privacy Act, 5 U.S.C.  552a(f)(4), entitles [XXX] to request that her leave records be amended regardless of the amount of time that has transpired. [XXX] should send her Privacy Act request to the following address:

DFAS-CO-L
P.O. Box 182317 Columbus, OH 43218
Attention: John Graham

We thank you for your interest in this matter and hope that this information will be of assistance to you and to your constituent.

Sincerely,

Paul Britner

Senior Attorney
