The National Household Education Surveys Program (NHES), the flagship household survey program of the National Center for Education Statistics, collects nationally representative, descriptive data on the educational activities of children and adults in the United States. NHES surveys are conducted about every 3 years on topics including early education, family involvement in schools, homeschooling, and adult training and education. These data may be used to analyze trends over time. In 2019, the NHES collected data about young children's care and education before kindergarten, parent involvement in education from kindergarten to high school, and homeschooling.
