The Division of Extramural Research provides overall leadership, planning, and direction for the NINDS extramural research program. Approximately 90% of the overall budget of NINDS is used to fund extramural research through a variety of funding mechanisms.

Research At NINDS

Investigators in the NINDS intramural program conduct research in the basic, translational, and clinical neurosciences at the NINDS Bethesda, Maryland, laboratories. Their specific interests cover a broad range of neuroscience research.
