Research Triangle Park, NC

Study Overview: Immunity Cells in Blood
Inflammatory Response to DNA Damage (Effect of SNPs in p53 and p53 Response Elements on the Inflammatory Response to DNA Damage) The study will look at how changes in the tumor suppressor gene p53 lead to changes in inflammation and the ability to repair DNA damage.

Research Triangle Park, NC

Study Overview: Inflammatory Response to DNA Damage
Inflammatory Response to Endotoxin (Effect of Innate Immunity on the Inflammatory Response to Endotoxin) This study will look at how differences in people’s genes may cause differences in their blood cells’ response to exposed environmental factorsResearch Triangle Park, NC Study Overview: Inflammatory Response to Endotoxin
Inner-City Asthma Study (ICAS) ICAS Study evaluates the effectiveness of two types of interventions to reduce the prevalence and severity of asthma in children.Research Triangle Park, NC
Metabolic Disease (Glucocorticoid Receptor SNPs in Receptor Function and Metabolic Disease) NIEHS Investigators will look at how differences in people’s genes may cause their body to respond in different ways to glucocorticoids. Glucocorticoids are hormones made by the human body that are essential for life but in excess may cause diseases such as obesity and diabetes.

Research Triangle Park, NC

Molecular Basis of Inherited Reproductive Disorders Study During puberty, children begin to develop into adults. Problems with the hormones released during puberty can affect the reproductive system. Some people have low hormone levels that severely delay or prevent puberty. Others start puberty abnormally early. Other people may have a normal puberty but develop reproductive disorders later in life. Researchers want to study people with reproductive disorders to learn more about how these disorders may be inherited.
