Kevin Garvey serves as the Chief of Staff to the U.S. Trade Representative, Ambassador Robert E. Lighthizer. Prior to his service at USTR, Mr. Garvey was Associate Counsel to the President in the Office of White House Counsel, and before that, he practiced law for several years in the White Collar: Government Litigation and Investigations practice group at Sidley Austin.
A native of South Bend, Indiana, Mr. Garvey received his J.D. from Georgetown Law School, an M.A. from the University of Chicago in Arabic Language & Literature, an M.A. from the University of Notre Dame in Classics & Theology, and a B.A. from the University of Notre Dame in Philosophy and Middle Eastern Studies.
Mr. Garvey resides in Silver Spring, Maryland, with his wife Shannon and their eight children.
