Overview and Mission
The mission of DHSP is to promote a resilient, sustainable, and prepared healthcare system. DHSP accomplishes its mission through strategic policy initiatives and engagement with providers and suppliers, practitioners, payers, policymakers, and state and local governments.
Functions
DHSP leads ASPR’s efforts to provide expertise and guidance related to healthcare preparedness and response through four key functions:
- Providing leadership and subject matter expertise in healthcare systems
- Formulating, analyzing, and implementing strategic policy initiatives to provide guidance related to healthcare system preparedness and response
- Building partnerships through engagement, communication, and outreach to stakeholders
- Conducting research, evaluation, and quality initiatives that promote a resilient, sustainable and prepared healthcare system
