Fulbright-National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowship
The Fulbright-National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowship provides opportunities for U.S. citizens to participate in an academic year of overseas travel and digital storytelling in one, two, or three countries on a globally significant theme. Participants undertake an in-depth examination of a globally relevant issue, comparing and contrasting how that issue is experienced across borders; utilizing a variety of digital storytelling tools.

Edward R. Murrow Program for Journalists
The Edward R. Murrow Journalism Program for Journalists is a specialized exchange program to engage young international media professionals in dialogue with their U.S. counterparts. The program has brought more than 500 emerging leaders in the field of journalism to examine journalistic principles and practices, both in the U.S. and abroad, returning to their communities as agents of change.

The Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE)
To augment the existing slate of projects focused on women and economic empowerment, the Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs (ECA) established the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs (AWE) in 2019. AWE provides women entrepreneurs with the skills, resources, and networks needed to start and scale successful businesses.

The English Education Alliance (E²A) connects resources from public, private, non-profit, and academic member organizations to meet English language teaching and learning needs and opportunities worldwide. E2A was founded by the U.S. Department of State and TESOL International Association in 2012 and the four key areas of focus are:

•    Technology-supported learning
•    Capacity building
•    Teacher-focused professional development
•    Learner-focused programs

E²A partners include:

biNu: a privately held company whose free mobile application dramatically improves internet access, speed, and social media connectivity for lower-tech mobile phones. biNu is used by over 5 million people monthly worldwide. In partnership with the U.S. Department of State, biNu developed the American English mobile app to provide a library of free multimedia English language learning resources for English teachers and learners around globe.

Intel: technology corporation that specializes in designing and building the essential technologies that serve as the foundation for the world’s computing devices. In partnership with the U.S. Department of State, Intel will develop and distribute pre-loaded English language learning content bundles on Intel’s computing devices sold abroad.

TESOL International: global association that advances professional expertise in English language teaching and learning for speakers of other languages worldwide. In a joint effort with the U.S. Department of State to respond to the global demand for English, TESOL International is connecting and expanding access to their international networks, and professional expertise and resources.

Worldreader: non-profit organization working to put e-books into the hands of children and families in the developing world using e-readers and mobile phones. The Worldreader Mobile app, developed in partnership with biNu, has over half a million active readers worldwide. Worldreader distributes free U.S. Department of State e-book resources for English language teachers and learners.

espnW Global Sports Mentoring Program 
A partnership with the U.S. Department of State and espnW that pairs international emerging leaders in sports with leading American women across the spectrum of sports. The partnership harnesses the power of mentoring to build capacity and create sustainable sports opportunities for underserved women and girls worldwide. Since its inception, the program has created a new global network of women and girls who strive to create positive change in their home communities through sports.

Booz Allen Hamilton
ECA has partnered with Booz Allen Hamilton to provide mentoring and networking opportunities to youth. Booz Allen hosts professional development workshops and events for National Security Language Initiative for Youth (NSLI-Y) alumni. In the past these events have featured panel discussions, regional cuisine, alumni presentations, small group language practice, and networking opportunities. The NSLI-Y program provides merit-based scholarships to U.S. high school students and recent graduates interested in learning less-commonly studied foreign languages overseas.
