2019 Highlights
- 1,953 employees (19% of the workforce) donated to philanthropic programs, with $2.6 million going to 778 nonprofits
- Employees donated 988 gifts for the Holiday Gift Drive, the equivalent of 14,000 meals during the Food Drive
- Employees donated over 800 backpacks filled with school supplies (and an additional $4,810 in donations) for the Back to School Drive
- Lab-organized employee volunteer service days saw employees give 392 service hours to nonprofit projects
- Laboratory policy expanded to offer paid time off for non-STEM education community service volunteering during employees’ working time, in addition to time off for education outreach and assistance
- The Laboratory hosted a Community Conversation event for 90 regional nonprofit leaders with focus groups and panel discussions for knowledge-sharing
