Citizens Police Academy
Every February, area Scott County police agencies and the Bettendorf Police Department sponsor a Citizens Police Academy. The Academy is an eight week program designed to give each participant a basic knowledge of how their law enforcement agencies operate. Academy participants have the opportunity to fire a police issued handgun, tour the Scott County Jail, and ride along with an on-duty officer or deputy.
Texas Hold’Em Tournament for United Way
Friday, February 22, 2013: 6pm (doors open at 5pm) at the QC Waterfront Convention Center, Bettendorf. Great prizes awarded to top players. Annual event hosted by City of Bettendorf and Scott County.

Applications for a variety of seasonal positions with the Scott County Conservation Board parks are now being accepted online. Seasonal positions can start as early as April and end as late as October depending upon the position, but most are for the period from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Salaries vary depending upon the type of position and experience or certifications.
