Effective Date: November 20, 2020 | Active Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) Forms Available to Test in Training

Applicant, Applicant S2S, Grantor, Grantor S2S

On November 20, 2020, Grants.gov will make all new Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) form versions active in the Training environment.

Applicant Impact: Applicants can begin testing the UEI form versions in the Training Environment.

Grantor Impact: Grantors can begin testing the UEI form versions in the Training Environment. Grantors can begin creating Opportunity Packages containing the new UEI form versions.

Effective Date: December 19, 2020 | Enhance Security: Only Support TLS 1.2 with ephemeral (ECDHE and DHE) ciphers in Production Environment

On December 19, 2020, Grants.gov will enhance security for our System-to-System (S2S) interface in the Production environment.

Moving forward, the S2S interface in Production will only support TLS 1.2 with ephemeral (ECDHE and DHE) ciphers.

What is TLS? Transport Layer Security (TLS) is a cryptographic protocol that provides communications security over a computer network. It aims to minimize the risk of sensitive data being intercepted and used for malicious purposes during the transmission over insecure networks.

Impact: Applicant and Grantor S2S Users should update their systems before December 19, 2020

Effective Date: December 19, 2020 | Deletion of Grantor Accounts with Duplicate Email Address

On December 19, 2020, Grantor accounts with a duplicate email address will be deleted

Grantor Impact: For a grantor user with multiple Grants.gov accounts registered using the same email address, only the account with the most recent login will be retained. All other duplicate grantor accounts will be deleted, and you will no longer have access to associated data (including agency activity). To retain access to the associated data, please merge the duplicate grantor accounts.

  • To merge your accounts, you need access to the email address associated with the accounts. If you no longer have access to the email account or you do not want to merge these accounts, then you can change the email address to enter a unique email address. For instructions, refer to the Merge Accounts help article.

On April 19, 2021, Grants.gov will deploy all new UEI form versions to the Production environment.

Applicant Impact: S2S Applicants must be ready to support Application Packages containing the new UEI form versions.

Grantor Impact: New templates will use the new UEI form versions. Grantors can begin creating Opportunity Packages containing the new UEI form versions.
